Term Limits for Pacifica City Council


Bernie Sifry of Pacifica FOGG (Friends of Good Government) reports that he has collected 2700 of the required 3200 signatures needed to put a term limits initiative for Pacifica City Council on the ballot.

I wonder if this is why Councilman Jim Vreeland is going around town telling people they don't have to sign the term limits petition, since HE isn't running for re-election. Wink wink nudge nudge saynomore saynoMORE!

Good point Lionel. I too have heard this from many, many sources. This is Vreeland's style. He shamelessly starts his own contradictory rumors to manipulate perception and get as many votes as possible. Being the ace reporter that you are you should ask him "point blank". I guarantee you the answer will make as much sense as Palin speak.

I don't actually have a comment on this but I do have a question for the City Attorney. Ms. City Attorney: If I am registered as a candidate with the Secretary of State, the Chief Elections Officer and the Local Filing Officer and if my name appears on the ballot, does that mean that I am running for Councl? [pause].... Thank you.
