I'm kind of interested in the backstory on this one. The article doesn't give any indications of Ms. Larsen's future plans and says Mr. Hinshaw has been named "interim Editor". This suggests the change wasn't a planned one.

I wish Ms. Larsen the best in her future endeavors and would like to thank her for her years of service as a eye and voice for Pacifica.

Elaine could write a helluva book on this crazy town but she's too good a person to do that. Thanks, Elaine and all the best to you!

Elaine Larsen ran a good ship. She taught her staff well. Police report says the incident happened 1130 PM Tuesday night. Too late to make that edition but check the 8/20/14.

352, 444, then there were the more global editorials, such as: "Let's connect the dots..."

Most of us very much appreciate Elaine, her intelligence, her humanity, and the quality of community news provided in this city.

Kathy, 444 is an Elaine Larsen fan and I'm glad you brought up her Connect the Dots editorial from 2012. Anyone who wonders how Pacifica got so screwed-up needs to read it. Her insight on lousy leadership, development and particularly the role of the hilariously-named Friends of Pacifica in the quarry, is priceless. She's seen and heard it all and separates the bs from the truth with a scalpel.
