City Council term limits, the Measure, and the city application this election

Smart voter, Measure V, Term Limits, 11/2/12 election.  "Shall an ordinance be adopted providing prospectively that no person who has served two terms of office as a Pacifica City Councilmember shall be eligible to run for election as a Pacifica City Councilmember and further providing that if for any reason a person serves a partial term as Pacifica City Councilmember in excess of two years, that partial term shall be considered a full term for purposes of the term limit provision?"

Related news article - Pacifica Tribune/Jane Northrop, 8/12/14.  ---- "City Council Member Len Stone will not be seeking another term. The other incumbents, Sue Digre and Mike O'Neill, will run for another term. In Digre's case, it will be the last term for her under Pacifica's term limits ordinance."

No need for name calling.

Len may just know the damage is a lot worse than $4,000,000.

11:00...Sometimes its better to quit when you are ahead, then to go down in flames like Vreeland. Len brought energy to the council. He tried hard to explore every angle. He could not though lead Measure V to victory. I saw a different somewhat somber Len after the defeat of Measure V. With a young family and all the kid activities, maybe being on council at this time was too much. He could always come back in 2016, 18 or 20, he's a young guy still. Good luck Len!

Quitting is what Sarah Palin did partly through her term as governor. Len is completing the term for which he was elected, and for which he voluntarily received no pay. I wish him all the best.

Whether or not you agreed with Len's politics (I didn't) does take away from the fact that he busted his butt to get elected, which I witnessed personally as he canvassed my street. He put in his time, and thankfully is moving on. I'm sure he, his wife and kid(s) will be much happier without the yoke of being a council member. Best of luck Len.

Everyone wants to be the next Vreeland and run the city, but no one wants to end up like Vreeland did.

Think about it, it's not worth it!

I respect his priorities. He's serving his full term in a thankless job with a grim future.
