USA Today/Mary Bowerman, 9/3/14. " 'California 'Flintstone House' is on the market for $4.2 million."

"Yabba dabba doo! California's well-known 'Flintstone House' is on the market. The 2,370-square-foot home sits on a hilltop overlooking Interstate 280 just outside San Francisco. The 39-year-old, three-bedroom, two-bathroom home is listed at $4.2 million

'Many of you have seen this house from Highway 280 for years. Your curiosity will be satisfied when you see the great photos,' listing agent Judy Meuschke said in a Sept. 1 Facebook post.

The house was designed by architect William Nicholson and built in 1976. The home became informally known as the 'Flintstone House,' a nod to the cartoon sitcom about a family that lived during the Stone Age. The quirky home was was also called the "Barbapapa House" in the 1970s, according to Curbed San Francisco.   Meuschke told NBC Bay Area that the asking price is 'pretty good price for a landmark.' She said the owner chose to remain anonymous and has lived in the home for 19 years."

The Harmony Opus model has a butler's pantry? The dud known as Harmony HaHa. Who knew the Canadians were so funny?

Fred Flinstone and Barney Rubble could have built out Harmony faster than the goons from Canada. aye?

Goons from Canada?

With the Harmony@1 project, there is a sale pending, which may be the reason there is a building delay.

The sale that is reported to be pending on lot 8 seems to be in limbo. No application has been submitted to Planning Department and no Planning commission hearing is schedule as of August 31. The Conditions of Approval require that this house has a living roof but the renditions on their Facebook page show a standard type roof. They may have sold something they can not deliver. Also Harmony @1 has not submitted for the building permit for lot 2 as of August 31. ????

Harmony @ 1 is doomed.

Per the Harmony website, lot 8 has been "pending" since April. Not sure how real that "pending" notice is. Have to wonder why a person with that kind of money to spend on a house would want to put it down on one in which a simple google search reveals how the developer has gone from bragging about that Harmony would be the greenest of green devlopmenets (read any 2013/14-era interview of Tait Cowen) to one in which the developer fought hard to escape the LEED certification requirement in order to save ITSELF money. Not exactly inspiring. Couple that with the fact that the Harmony website spends more ink talking about how the homes comme equipped with automatic garage door openers (seriously -- they actually list this as a selling point, like it is something unique) than it does about its supposed commitment to being green. This development has all the earmarks of a scam. I'd love for it to be real, but it smells bad. Really bad.

Uh Oh I hear NOBY dance music.
You know how much they love to celebrate financial loss.

It's all so very Pacifica. We vote to keep out the type of fundable, competent, proven developers who can deliver a project--granted, many don't want that particular project--and we're left with the third and fourth tier players. Whadda ya expect?
