Innovative government update this week

Government this week
State government  - A new California Whistleblower Protection Act passed the Assembly Judiciary Committee this week. The bill was authored by Assemblyman Kevin Mullin, D-South San Francisco.   

County government - The Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to commit funds from the now-dissolved redevelopment agencies back into affordable housing.

City government -  The Redwood City Council on Monday approved allocating $450,000 in federal grant funds toward buying a special needs affordable housing unit by the nonprofit Kainos Home and Training Center.  The San Carlos City Council Monday approved 4-1, with Matt Grocott dissenting, to sell Wheeler Plaza to developer Silverstone Communities for $1.   Read more.
