Pollock Realty Planning Boutique Hotel in Menlo Park

Pollock Realty Corp. expects to gain city approval this fall for its proposed four-story boutique hotel
on the site of a former Shell gas station at 1400 El Camino Real in downtown Menlo Park.

The approximately $30 million hotel project is planned to include about 60 rooms and 75 underground parking spaces, said Jeff Pollock, vice president of marketing and real estate for the Portola Valley-based developer.

Its contemporary design would help it stand apart from other area hotels, he said.

“We want it to be unique to Menlo Park,” Pollock said. The hotel would be geared toward all demographics, “but it will be designed as more current, hip and cool. There are [many] older hotels in the area,” he said, adding that the hotel’s operator will be announced next month.
