Pacifica Fees and Charges for Permits and Actions

Here are the latest city fees and charges for various permits and actions. 12 pages. Covers a lot of what goes on in this town. If you look carefully you may even notice fees you are supposed to pay that you don't even know you owe. If you have an alarm on your house, did you know you needed a permit and you owed a yearly fee? Want to remodel a bathroom, there's an app for , er, fee for that.

Peruse on, quite enlightening. Oh, and when a business complains about all the fees they are subject to, go check your list. I think you'll agree, business gets dipped into first. At the city, county, state, and federal level. It's starting to hurt.

And the point here? Every municipality charges fees for services. And doesn't this make sense? The recent survey reviewed actual costs for city staff to complete tasks and ensured that the charges cover the work involved or if they were no longer valid, that the fee was decreased. Some went up and some went down. Once again, if anyone was concerned, why didn't they voice their concerns to City Council? This was on the agenda of a couple of meetings.

I, for one, am happy this was posted. Not one of the things that sees the light of day ofter. There are a lot of fees though. Sure, everyone charges for fees. Nice to be reminded about them every once in awhile. Not all of us hang on every word of a council meeting.

And most cities understand the concept of. You must have enough revenue to pay bills. And not depend on grants, the state, gouging the taxpayers and residence.

If city hall can't manage the checkbook they should all be canned!

Managing the checkbook includes charging appropriate fees for services. Not sure what world you are living in where there is the thought that all cities aren't tapping into every resource available -- fees, grants, federal and state monies, taxes -- to make everything balances out. Multiple sources of revenue is how it works.

It's suggested by your comment that you think this information is hidden or that you need to "hang on every word of a council meeting". The city website has documents posted and available anytime of day or night for review.

I'm enjoying the morning and evening updates from UUT Campaign HQ!

Wonder who you have to piss off at HQ to get that assignment? And why? I mean, if they've got all the support the spokesposter claims, why worry about us? Just getting the word out, right?

"1155 getting a little defensive there."

Read the 11:55 statement. Seems more like stating a fact than getting defensive.

No 125, you definitely sound defensive. That, of course, has nothing to do with any facts you might provide. It's something in your "tone".
