Pacifica Tribune, 2/16/17. "Marijuana business in Pacifica."

"With the passage of the Medical Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act (MCRSA) in 2015 and the Adult Use of Marijuana Act (AUMA) in 2016, Pacifica must decide to what extent, if any, to allow medical and non-medical (recreational) marijuana businesses to operate in Pacifica.

At a City Council meeting on January 23, 2017, the Pacifica City Council agreed it was important to conduct community outreach to determine how the community feels about this issue.  The Pacifica police are inviting residents to take part in its survey on this issue. Go to cityofpacifica.org to take the survey on the “City Hall Listens." The deadline for participation is March 1."

"White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said Thursday that voters could expect to see “greater enforcement” of federal laws against the use of recreational marijuana, seeming to signal that President Donald Trump was willing to put down nascent attempts at legalization that are spreading nationwide. At the same time, Spicer said that the president was supportive of a federal rule that gave leeway to states allowing medical marijuana use. He did, however, suggest that fighting recreational cannabis use took on special importance in light of a nationwide opioid addiction crisis."    Note graphic from The Weed Blog, Marijuana news and information, "Four different initiatives In California... 2016."
