Pacifica Tribune/Ginny Jaquith/Special, 2/23/17. "Pacificans Care honors Kiest, Rees and Recology.  Local business, individuals recognized for outstanding service."

"Debbie Kiest, Anita Rees and Recology of the Coast were honored as recipients of the 2016 “People Who Care” awards by the Pacificans Care Board of Directors as a recent reception at the community center. The “People Who Care” award was established by Pacificans Care in 2002 to recognize groups, businesses or individuals who have significantly contributed to the well-being of the community and through their actions and contributions have exemplified Pacifica as a community that cares.

Pacificans Care was established in 1982 to generate community support for social and safety net services for those in need in Pacifica. Pacificans Care annually supports the Pacifica Resource Center, Pacifica Youth Service Bureau, Pacifica Senior Services and Pacifica Child Care. Through its efforts over $766,000 has been returned to the community to support the work of these core social service agencies in providing critical services to the community." Read more.

We also have a Community Minigrant Program.  We have allocated monies to fund small grants (up to $1000) for social service projects to benefit the community.  In addition to providing grants, we assist in other ways.  We have served as the fiscal sponsor for “Project Play” to enable the construction of the wonderful playground at Frontierland Park, for the purchase of infrared “firecams” for our local fire department, for the Skatepark at the Community Center, for the Pacifica Realtors Community Service Group, and for the Pedro Point Playground."  Facebook/Pacificans Care, scroll down to 2/7/17 for this year's "People who Care" awards.
