Crime is just not as good as it used to be

In the modern world, crime is hardly worth the effort, an example from a few weeks ago:  car recovered, fortunately no violence, perpetrators still at large.

Thanks for returning the car,
"BELMONT (KRON) — Belmont police are searching for a man accused of trying to snatch a woman’s purse at a Safeway parking lot on Wednesday morning (9/21/16). Police said the attempted robbery happened at around 8:10 a.m. in the Safeway parking lot, located at 1100 El Camino Real, police said.

The victim, a 62-year-old Pacifica resident, said she was walking in the parking lot when a maroon Honda CRV pulled up near her.  A man then got out of the vehicle and demanded the victim hand over her purse. The woman instead immediately turned around and ran into the store, police said.

.... Investigators have determined the Honda was reported stolen out of San Jose. The car has since been recovered however the suspects have not been apprehended."
