Pacifica government compensation, fiscal years 2011, 2010, 2009

Welcome to the State of California

The population estimate for 2011 makes no sense - Pacifica didn't suddenly lose 3,000 residents. What's the source of this info?

I thought the same thing. I don't have much confidence in the data.

This is not a census. The sites purpose is not to report population, it's for reporting compensation and I think in that regard it's accurate.

Average wages per employee is misleading as it includes not only the high tiers 9 City attorney, City manager, etc), but also a number of what are obviously part time jobs (lifeguard, homework coordinator, etc).

$48 k + doesn't seem outrageous, until you look at some of the individual stats. The salaries of the Pacifica Police is reason enough to outsource their work to the Sherrif's Dept. IMMEDIATELY. I don't think a police officer can make that kind of money in the "bigs," so why is Pacifica throwing that kind of dough at them? It all makes me wonder just how accurate this data really is.

Did Ritzma cook up this report? Some union puke must have got to Controller Chang. This new format is like a dream for this city. Average salary skewed very low by including every $10 hour parttime job in with the $100,000 clerks. Where are the salary cuts? Looks like any cuts were against future increases because we're still paying the same $18 million per year we were paying in 2009 for about the same number of employees. We've been lied to. Saw a couple council positions listed near $20,000 year. Since their self-approved stipend is $700 month/$8400 year that means they're still stuffing cafeteria cash in their pockets even after telling us they'd stop that. What a disgusting bunch of people. If this is the best they can do to cut costs after 5 years of financial catastrophe then this city would be better run by the county. Can't happen soon enough. Run up a white flag.

Hot damn! Look at the money we pay these people. We've got to be rolling in it. All this doom and gloom about going broke from these lousy, lying politicians. We haven't cut one cent from our payroll in years. They're playing a shell game. Been paying out
$18,000,000 per year since at least 2009. Including their own fat council salaries. Don't ask me for more money you greedy, inept bumbs.

It still looks like over 60 employees making over $100K including benefits.

What ever happened with the negotiations this year? Are they still ongoing? Are any contracts agreed on? What did we get for taking outsourcing off the table? Why is this all so secret?
