What an embarrassing sight: to see so many unkept, downright "welcome to the ghetto" homes. There is no excuse for tall weeds, exposed garbage, broken appliances, ice chests and old broken vehicles.
Please do not blame the economy. It costs nothing to bend over and pull weeds. It is free to have broken appliances recycled. It is free to wash your windows and put away garbage. It is sad to see so many pitiful hovels dotting our streets here in our beautiful valley.
Come on, folks, you know who you are. If you won't do it yourselves, please think of your neighbors who would surely appreciate your consideration and effort to restore beauty to their neighborhood."

Hmmm, sounds like an absentee landlord who drops by infrequently and sees the mess that is Pacifica. We haven't been a "beautiful little ocean town"
for a longtime. Trailer park charm without the trailers.
To better illustrate the point why not use a picture of one of our real Linda Mar hovels, or, better yet, a collage of some from every neighborhood in this broke-down town? The house featured with the post is simply too nice even with the weeds and stuff. Photo shop out any house numbers and showcase the real Pacifica.
I thought this was "Fix Pacifica" not "Hate Pacifica." Asking people to clean up weeds, garbage, old appliances, and junk cars is a positive thing. Why put it down?
Who's putting it down? The letter-writer is absolutely right. This town needs a scrub, a broom and some elbow-grease. And I don't mean another committee. How about a little pride of place by the people who own these properties? And if it's bank-owned, how about some notoriety? The city should take an active role if bank-owned properties are an eyesore. There is help available for homeowners who really need it. Might be impossible but photos of actual Pacifica eyesores would be more effective.
so my buddy asked people to clean up the shit in front of their houses and he got thrashed by the public.

Nobody said it would be easy. Did your buddy really expect the slobs to welcome his request with enthusiasm?
things have gone down in the past 5 years or so, that is true, but then again, everything in the world has gone down in the past few years, i think that perhaps there are more people renting homes along linda mar, and possibly some elderly people as well that simply cannot afford gardeners anymore and that's why they are going to pot; what about the city enforcing the sign ordinance? that is a far greater problem and looks horribly tacky - especially when that furniture place puts up their "liquidation sale" signs all over town...tacky; tacky; tacky
