The following is an update of the 8/23/12 San Francisco Chronicle news story, reprinted on Fix Pacifica. Turns out that "breaking news" was incorrect, because time was needed to work through the story. The pills passed to the prisoner were over the counter melatonin. The prisoner was not her client, but was her boyfriend. She apparently did represent herself as the prisoner's attorney, and broke a jail rule in passing the sleep aid to him which was not a crime.
Hope for the best on this one |

"REDWOOD CITY -- A Pacifica attorney won't face charges for smuggling pills to a San Mateo County jail inmate because the drug turned out to be a natural sleep aid, a prosecutor said.
Jordening was facing trial in September for petty theft and has a 2004 conviction for the same crime, Wagstaffe said. No details were immediately available on those cases.
The state bar suspended Jordening's law license in October 2003 when she didn't respond to state bar charges she failed to finalize an Orange County woman's divorce, according to bar records. As part of a deal with officials, Jordening was publicly rebuked in January 2004 for the mishandled divorce but was allowed to resume practicing law." Read Article.
