Office/Retail flexibility downtown San Mateo
"The San Mateo Planning Commission approved a resolution last night that could allow for greater office use on ground floors in downtown depending on a future City Council vote.

Many existing and older commercial buildings are up to 130-feet deep in the downtown corridor but the current typical retail store depth is not more than 75 feet, according to a staff report.

The article includes more specifics, including a history of downtown retail/office code changes in 1986, and 2000.  Read Article.
