Goodbye Mayor Pete, the city cannot afford a repeat

Pacifica Tribune, letters to the editor, 8/21/12  "Our Mayor Pete" by Jim Alex

"Editor:  Pete, on Ian Butlers' Wavelength show you claimed to take your job as Pacifica Mayor very seriously. Pete, a serious Mayor attends council meetings!
Pete's interview with Ian on Wavelength, 5/14/12

Pacifica is in for a financial fight that may lead to bankruptcy. After the financial disaster you and your "friends" caused to the city budget, the lack of revenue producing projects, shrinking staff, low employee moral, and depleted reserves, the City Of Pacifica could face Chapter 9 Municipal Bankruptcy.

I know you have a way of kicking the can down the road, and you will leave the tough votes up to the next council.  Your stay on council will go down as a complete and total failure. Your legacy in Pacifica will be put in history as the man who engineered the bankruptcy of the town.

Pacifica, you deserve much better. Let's all try to never let the council be overrun with these self-serving rank amateurs that caused this financial destruction."

Related - Fix Pacifica reprint.article reference, includes the "35 minute interview, a selective recount and important highlights of  Mayor DeJarnatt's 16 years on city council."

Note:  During his 16 years on city council, DeJarnatt and others saved many productive properties from development. These properties include:  Mori Point, the Quarry, Beach Boulevard, Fish and Bowl. To his credit, DeJarnatt understood the importance of widening Highway 1 at Calera Creek Parkway (1.3 mile).

Yeah, Pete understood the need for widening Highway 1.

AND HE VOTED AGAINST IT!

Pete understood the importance of the Resource Center.

A HE WANTS TO CUT ITS FUNDING!

He got a message from a man who's wife is missing.

AND HE DIDN'T RETURN HIS CALL!

He knows Police Outsourcing may save our City.

SO HE ILLEGALLY VOTES IT TO BE HIDDEN IN A SECRET MEETING!

Hopefully Pete will be enjoying his pension in prison.

That is because the city of Pacifica has signed onto the UNAgenda 21. The same people who advocate and pused this upon us are the same people you support, Kathy, the Democratic Party.

Give us a break with this nonsense.

Didn't Ian swear that Pete gets no pension a few days ago? Care to issue a retraction Mr Butler?

Ian probably asked someone at city hall. Someone you should be able to trust, like a councilperson or senior staff. Haven't we just seen ample proof that the only time you get the truth from council is if there's something in it for them? And senior staff is concerned with job security. We all need to do our homework and be skeptical of those we empower. Particularly at the local level where oversight is lax and the honor system is worn thin.
