USA - US News magazine, annual 100 best high school rankings


Thinking higher aspirations, stay in school and plan to graduate. 

IT Leaders

Pacific Collegiate School in Santa Cruz ranked No. 8, Dublin High in Dublin ranked No. 12, Lowell High In San Francisco ranked No. 51, Mission San Jose High in Fremont ranked No. 67, American Indian Public High in Oakland ranked No. 71, Summit Preparatory High in Redwood City ranked No. 81 and Monta Vista in Cupertino ranked No. 97.

For nearly 22,000 schools, the magazine looked into whether the student body as a whole, as well as certain minority groups, performed better than statistical expectations. Then the magazine compiled a "college readiness index" based on participation in advanced-placement and International Baccalaureate classes and students' performance on AP and IB tests.

US News/Education best high school rankingsNational. . California. Pacifica.  Oceana and Terra Nova high schools were not in the national or California top 100 rankings, but were included in the 22,000 schools studied.  College readiness and academic performance index scores are included.
