Pacifica Tribune Community Notepad.  "Live music at the cannabis wellness center."

"The CWC, Pacifica's only medical Cannabis resource, will be hosting a musical performance by The Humpbacks on Saturday, September 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. All members of the public are invited, with no need for a doctor's recommendation. The event is an opportunity for the public to meet the members of the collective and learn about the many services and products offered. Refreshments will be served. The Cannabis Wellness Center is located at 2021 Palmetto Ave, Pacifica. 735-5031.

Reference - www.thecannabiswellnesscenter.com. The state of California passed the Compassionate Use Act of 1996 to ensure that seriously ill Californians have the right to obtain and use marijuana for medical purposes where that medical use is deemed appropriate and has been recommended by a physician who has determined that the person's health would benefit from the use of  marijuana in the treatment of chronic illnesses. The Compassionate Care Program allows the Cannabis Wellness Center to provide services to increase accessibility of medical marijuana to collective members."

Another excuse for our hippies stoners and surfers to get stoned.

I thought the city shut this place down?

Shhhh, quiet please. The city probably doesn't know it's there. Remember how they discovered that other one in an Easter Egg Hunt or something? We might be making a dime or two off this, so let's not trigger the usual reaction from city hall.

There is supposedly no cannabis sold on premises. But even if there were Ca Prop 215 allows for cannabis dispensaries. The Pacifica PD can do little to stop them unless the city bans them or enacts local ordinances that control them. Even if they did ban them now after the fact the pot club could sue. I don't smoke but I can tell you many sick people use cannabis to help with pain and chemo side effects. Sure people abuse it. But 1000's traditional (legal) drugs like oxycontin or vicodin are abused by millions with terrible results including death. At least nobody ever dies from pot. They just eat a lot. The city should license clubs. San Francisco gets $20,000+ in fees from each one.

The last place got busted because Mary Ann and police chief Tasa were out on the palmetto walk about and walked into the business selling pot that lied on their business license.

Yes, but we have our local stoners and surfers who have water in their ears, clipped their finger or toe nails, or got a haircut who claim they have pain.
