Nick Gust remembered

Pacifica Tribune/Chris Hunter, 12/10/13.  "Longtime Pacifica businessman, philanthropist Nick Gust passes at age 92.   Nick's Restaurant owner, four-time mayor put his personal stamp on community."

City council honors Gust family, 2012
Chamber honors Nick and Lorraine Gust, 2011
....  "Nick Gust, one of the unique figures who defined Pacifica and stamped his personality on it through his actions, died Dec. 5, at the age of 92. He was active at his eponymous restaurant in Rockaway Beach practically until the end, continuing to greet friends and customers in a way that had been his trademark for decades.

The legacy of Nick Gust is essentially the history of Pacifica through a unique prism. His successes are evident in the long-lived endurance of his business ventures. These restaurants and motel helped define the tourist narrative of Pacifica. His passing will be officially noted by the city with the flying of the flag at half mast at City Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made to the Pacifica Resource Center."  Read article.

Nick will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. An icon, a pioneer a fixture in Pacifica long before there was a Pacifica. Thanks for all the crab sandwiches and good times Nick. My sincere sympathies to family and friends.

He was corrupt, and sat around playing small town mob boss to get ahead.
