The New Yorker/News Desk/David Remnick, Editor and Staff Writer, 11/9/16. "An American Tragedy."
"The election of Donald Trump to the Presidency is nothing less than a
tragedy for the American republic, a tragedy for the Constitution, and a
triumph for the forces, at home and abroad, of nativism,
authoritarianism, misogyny, and racism. Trump’s shocking victory, his
ascension to the Presidency, is a sickening event in the history of the
United States and liberal democracy. ... It is impossible to react to this moment with anything less
than revulsion and profound anxiety.
There are, inevitably, miseries to come: an increasingly reactionary
Supreme Court; an emboldened right-wing Congress; a President whose
disdain for women and minorities, civil liberties and scientific fact,
to say nothing of simple decency, has been repeatedly demonstrated. ...
.... The commentators, in their attempt to normalize this tragedy, will also
find ways to discount the bumbling and destructive behavior of the F.B.I.,
the malign interference of Russian intelligence, the free pass—the
hours of uninterrupted, unmediated coverage of his rallies—provided to
Trump by cable television, particularly in the early months of his
campaign. ... Fascism is not
our future—it cannot be; we cannot allow it to be so—but this is surely
the way fascism can begin.
Hillary Clinton
was a flawed candidate but a resilient, intelligent, and competent
leader, who never overcame her image among millions of voters as
untrustworthy and entitled. Some of this was the result of her ingrown
instinct for suspicion, developed over the years after one bogus
“scandal” after another. And yet, somehow, no matter how long and
committed her earnest public service, she was less trusted than Trump, a
flim-flam man who cheated his customers, investors, and contractors; a
hollow man whose countless statements and behavior reflect a human being
of dismal qualities—greedy, mendacious, and bigoted. His level of
egotism is rarely exhibited outside of a clinical environment." Read article.

Triumph of the will and defeat of intellectualsm is apparent as Trump overcame everything thrown at him.He is the last person standing in vision of nation's future. The art of the deal is the way its going to be.His rebuilding infrastructure will make him very popular.
LOLOL!! Fucking cry babies. Nothing but a bunch of communists.
Very correct. Trump is the defeat of intelletualism. He's the stupidest fuck to ever walk into the oval office. That's saying a lot when you consider that George W was once there playing president. Half of America falls into the low IQ moron club and now they've got their hero in place.
Holy Fuck. How stupid is our country.
No way can he reverse globalization and return those lost jobs to the US. Can't return to abject poverty the many millions of people in 2nd and 3rd world countries who've just moved up the economic ladder for the first time ever. I mean that stuff was just a campaign biscuit thrown to the fools. Our infrastructure does need lots of work and it would mean lots of jobs, good paying jobs, blue-collar jobs. So if he provides those he's a hero and maybe no one will notice what he didn't deliver. But how's he going to fund those infrastructure projects? Usually comes out of taxes and bonds. Taxes. Trump and taxes. Hope he's not squeamish about other people paying taxes.
1140 Have you been to Pacifica?
World War Z is upon us! If millennials had voted the results would have been much different. Blame the party for neglecting that vote. There are more millennials than baby boomers now, and they are out of work in massive numbers. Not happy and apathetic with everything except their phones.
Millennials think life is for watching, not living.
See, I am not looking so dumb and lacking experience now!
Calm down Georgie Boy, you're still as dumb as dirt.

True, but I've got a pretty awesome phone!
Dubya, the mere fact that you didn't have that repulsive "we're keeping a list" banana slug Omarosa at your side puts you way ahead. Way. I credit Miz Laura for your newly found good sense. You married up, Dubya.
If you are young, recently out of college and need a job the DNC is hiring agitators, paying$15.00 an hour to terrorize citizens. Also, harvesting season is over but the Emerald Triangle is always looking for trimmers and farmers. So when the protest season is over for winter head on up to mendo county for work. All tax free cash. You could work all year being a paid protester and weed trimmer.
