Morning of service to our community
Pacifica Tribune/Lynn Adams, 1/14/14. "Annual beach cleanup/planting/restoration day Martin Luther King Day of Service event Pacifica State Beach Saturday, January 18 from 9 a.m. to noon."

"Once again the Pacifica Beach Coalition and Pacifica's Environmental Family will h

old their annual beach cleanup, planting and habitat restoration day on Pacifica State Beach in honor of Martin Luther King Day of Service. This year's event is expected to attract a hundred or more volunteers who wish to give back and help the beach, snowy plovers, and ocean inhabitants.

Volunteers are invited to start by cleaning Linda Mar Beach and the surrounding area on Saturday, January 18 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. The cleanup meeting location is in the main parking lot against the seawall just north of Taco Bell.  For the beach planting and habitat restoration join us from 10 a.m. to noon near the bike path north of the Crespi stoplight."   Read article.

Holiday Inn Rockaway is proposing a well thought-out expansion. It will help the local economy. Be nice if Beach Coalition would endorse this effort. Give to communality beyond the litter patrol that should be taken care off by the parking fee paid Linda Mar beach officers. Just a thought ....

Parking Loy Fee ? How's that working out? Any info available on the actual vs projected revenue since inception?
Even with all the nice weather, haven't noticed all that many users.

It better work. If it doesn't at least cover the costs of the rangers
and other beach related expenditures including maintenance, then we will be spending more than we did before.
Guess we should be grateful that unlike the old days when previous desperate councils legally looted the sewer fund to pay the bills, beach revenue cannot be used anywhere but on the beach. So saeth the State and the CCC. No profiteering. We loves our plovers.
