Bay Area Sports Journalism awards - Horace wins two


Horace Hinshaw, Pacifica Tribune Sports Editor wins two (2) distinguished Bay Area Sports Journalism awards.

Pacifica Tribune, 5/29/12.  "Tribune sports editor honored."  "Pacifica Tribune sports editor Horace Hinshaw won two awards in the 35th annual Greater Bay Area Journalism Awards presented recently by the San Francisco Peninsula Press Club.  Hinshaw won first place in the sports game story, for "Giants mascot puts 'seal' on Mavericks" and a third place in the sports story category, for "50 years of Tiger football."  Read Article.

 Spectrum Magazine, 5/19/12 (monthly), Redwood City.  ".... The winners were selected from 440 entries from media professionals in the 11 Greater Bay Area counties. Awards honored work done in 2011. Entries were judged by the Press Clubs of Bakersfield, Cleveland, Florida, Milwaukee, New Orleans and San Diego. The Print Photography division was judged by press photographers of the Appeal-Democrat in Marysville, and was coordinated by Paul Sakuma of the Associated Press.
