This is a perfect example why Pacificans should't re-elect him again and again.

Also let's not re-elect them at all. ZERO votes for Digre. She is running again to cover up for all their mistakes . Enough is enough.

Who ya gonna call? Who's running?

According to the Tribune, Sue Digre, Susan Vellone, and Tom Clifford have requested papers to run. Nothing's official until the papers are filed, though.

Since Clifford is from the same "Keep Pacifica Poor" camp as Lancelle, Vreeland and Digre, I suspect this means he asked all three if they were going to run, and at least one of them said no.

For the life of me, I can't imagine what kinds of accomplishments Sue Digre will list to convince people to vote for her, unless "doing nothing except run businesses out of town" appeals to a large group of Pacificans.

I've just met her once, but I like Vellone.

Funny video.
One thing he missed is how much staff time it took to prepare the lease, prep the council on how it should vote and why, hold the hands of the morons and crooks running Whole Energy, etc.
Someone might want to do a Public records Act request to find out how much staff time, at what cost, this disaster bilked the taxpayers.

Anonymous, 4 years in planning (per Nancy Hall), plus the concrete "storage pad" (always intended for the biodiesel trailer) was paid for by property owners on our annual "sewer fee" bill.

In addition to what you say about staff time there was the left-over legal bills and clean-up, the $135,000 advance was paid from the city general fund by all our taxes. Maybe $400,000 - $500,000 total. City council supported this, bypassing the Planning Commission and an environmental impact report.

Whole Energy Fuels was a flaky company, easily discovered by google search. The project proposed was a first-time ever (never been done) hook-up to a WWTP, although stand alone biodiesel plants have existed for years. Whole Energy Fuels had never built even one stand alone biodiesel plant, much less a rare integration with a WWTP.

The liability insurance policy Whole Energy Fuels owned was merely a business policy with AGI. They also intended to transport this fuel to Richmond in single insulated trucks, whereas the State of CA requires double insulation.

The location was near commerce, a school, a potential substantial development in the quarry were all irritants-- and, I'm sure there's much more we will never know this city council proposed "pet project".

Wrap it up, folks, we're done.

No, the pro-economy candidates running reflect a desire to change the failed direction of Pacifica, caused by the current city council. All but 3 of the pro-economic candidates running need to decline, but gather their forces to join with and support those who can win. So, what is it egos or coalition? If egos, Pacifica loses again, possibly forever.

Who are the pro-economy candidates?

I poop on you all!!!

Well, so far incumbents Jim Vreeland is running for city council as is Sue Digre. Neither of these current city council members are pro-economic, and if Julie Lancelle runs not her either.

City Council candidates have until August 6th to declare (late extension until August 11th), so whatever you're looking at is partial. In addition to the incumbents above, candidates include Cal Hinton, BJ Nathanson, Thomas Clifford, Tod Schlessinger, Omar Saleh, Susan Vellone and Heather Tanner. Assuming Barbara Arietta might be running, she has yet to register with the city. I don't know Heather Tanner, maybe someone else will advise.

Of these known candidates Cal Hinton, Tod Schlessinger, Omar Saleh, Susan Vellone are all pro-economy. Those I would personally be inclined to vote for because they would each bring-in fresh thinking, balanced city economic solutions, progress, and probably can win are: Susan Vellone, Omar Saleh and Barbara Arietta.
(The list of candidates was taken from the blog of Jeff Simons).

This year of the 5 city council positions, 3 are available. The 8 year failed economic track record of the current city council is known. 3 pro-economy challenger candidates could prevail, which means all but 3 of these pro-economy candidates should step-aside and support others who are best suited and can go the distance.

Is it really necessary to keep hearing from the infantile person who seems to need a laxative. Really boring, try language. Can't you do better than that?

Is this the Heather Tanner who pulled papers?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/03/26/former-middle-class-famil_n_514851.ht

Heather Tanner put herself through law school, working during the day and attending classes at night, so that one day she and her family could move out of their two-bedroom rental apartment and buy a house. She saw that dream slip away in August of last year, when she was laid off from her job as an attorney and was unable to find work.

"Before I got laid off, they were talking about year-end bonuses, and I put in as many hours as I could so I could hit that mark," said Tanner, who lives with her family in Pacifica, California. "My husband and I were going to use that bonus as a down payment for our house. You go from dreaming about that house you want and having a backyard to not even being able to pay the rent on your apartment. My six-year-old will say things like, 'Mommy, you can have my money for the new house.' But the dream is out the window -- it will be years now."

As an attorney for an insurance defense firm, Tanner was making about $100,000 a year. Since being laid off, she has been working two hours a day at her son's school to supplement her $450-a-week unemployment checks. She told HuffPost that she is willing to take a job doing just about anything, as long as it's legal.

"I've applied for jobs at Target, Macy's, as a camp counselor. I've been on many interviews, but the comments I get at non-legal jobs are, 'Why do you need a job?' I mean, I have a family to support."

Tanner says that because day care is so expensive in California, she and her husband Carl decided it would make the most sense for him to stay home and take care of their two children, now ages 4 and 6, while she worked full-
