COFFEE PARTY MISSION STATEMENT: http://www.coffeepartyusa.com/ The Coffee Party Movement gives voice to Americans who want to see cooperation in government. We recognize that the federal government is not the enemy of the people, but the expression of our collective will, and that we must participate in the democratic process in order to address the challenges that we face as Americans. As voters and grassroots volunteers, we will support leaders who work toward positive solutions, and hold accountable those who obstruct them.

We are ordinary people with honor working to improve social and cultural change in America through peaceful methodology, recognizing that government is part of the solution and our only apparatus for collective decision making and action. No "pitch forks". This is the Coffee Party USA summary as I see it, some of us may want to be involved.

George Soros , who hates America, funds the coffee party.

I'd like to see a source for both those claims, Kathleen. Facts please, not blog rants or opinion pieces.

I'll wait.

Have you not read any of his books? I don't have time for babies. It is obvious you live in a bubble if you do not know what George Soros does.

Kathy Meeh said...

No, the Tea Party that drank the "Tea", the new Coffee Party is a rational response to that.

Kathy Meeh said...

Anonymous, you said "the government has betrayed its constituents, it needs to be replaced not consoled", replace with what?

I think my previous post got lost on the way to the Internet, so I'll try again. My apologies if two show up in the meantime.

Kathleen, why am I a baby when I ask you to back up what you say? A quote from one of Soros' books would do fine to illustrate your claim that he "hates America."

I'm still waiting for any evidence you have indicating he "funds the coffee party" as you stated.

I have not read Soros' books and all I know about the man is that he made his billions in currency speculation. He was also on the Council for Foreign Relations at one time.

So, if you're done obfuscating, how about those facts I asked about?

George Soros hates America and he hates Capitalism. The two things that has made him a billionaire. He is a jewish man that hates jews. When he was a 14 year old, he helped the nazi's steal from the jews and kill them. He has said he has no guilt from his actions he was merely a spectator. Gee, that is the same thing he says about destroying the british pound. He can't even show his face in France because they hate him so much and he will be arrested. George Soros funds Moveon.org and now the Coffee Party. He owns the Democratic Party and Pres Obama. Read his books. I have. He is Satan in it's purest form.

Steve Sinai said...

Ugh, not the "self-hating Jew" rhetoric again.

Looks like Kathleen's obsession of the week is going to be George Soros.

Kathleen Rogan said...

He funds the Coffee Party. He will ruin coffee. Watch.

Kathy Meeh said...

Follow this logic: a) George Soros is a capitalist, but b) George Soros hates capitalism. Does this work for you?

Why does the Coffee Party need donations if George Soros is funding it?

Want to see some funny Glen Beck video stuff, try MOVEON.ORG or beck.cnnbcvideo.com FUNNY GLENN BECK STUFF

Scary Moveon.org (Democracy in Action) goals for 2009 were: 1) unversal health care, 2) economic recovery and job creation, 3) build a green economy, stop climate change, 4) end the war in Iraq.

Gee, this is all just so unreasonable, just make you wonder what positive solutions and serious analysis is being advanced by the Tea Baggers? Well, here's one by Glenn Beck: the 3,000 year conspiracy theory, a real racist whoop. The Think I'll stick with the intelligent "Satan" people.

Kathy, are you a coffee-grinder?

George Soros is apparently a "pure hell" name trigger for some right-wingers. So, here's some biographical background on George Soros, which is partially repetitive. Right-wingers have their own supporters and donors and generally outspend Democrats, so what's the problem? George Soros also supports democratic causes of his choosing world wide.

FROM HEDGE FUND WEALTH TO LIBERAL POLITICS AND PRO-DEMOCRATIC EFFORTS WORLDWIDE

So we should not believe what George Soros writes in his own books? Who or what am I supposed to believe? George Soros and Herb and Marion Sandler Pro Publica Propaganda news outlets? or his books that he wrote?? Oh Jeezus! What is a poor schlep to do?! Let's see buy expensive book or read free internet propaganda.......hmmmm.

Kathleen, how about following some credible, main stream media sources that have been referenced, or is that too radical of an idea for you?

Kathleen can't post any legit sources because she makes this stuff up in her addled head.

This is the last post to this Blog so that you guys can just have fun all by yourselves with your anonymouses.

You on the left are so derogatory to those you don't agree with. You always have underhanded slights where you think you are being clever and all you are being is rude. Your "legit" sources are hilarious most of the time. Kathy using "Obama gives me a thrill up my leg" Chris Matthews as a great news source. You anonymouses are the worst.

So as suggested by many of you, I am gone and you won't have to worry about me bothering you with a different view of things.

Stop feeding her and maybe she'll go away.

Lois, Chris Matthews (MSNBC news and political commentator) actually has an appropriate college level education, seasoned political background, and a reputation for inquiry and asking probing, fair questions of program guests. CHRIS MATTHEWS

Glenn Beck, on the other hand, has little higher education, one class or one semester I forget, he said "I paid for it myself", so that must have been important. He's an entertainer who promotes "conspiracy theories and incendiary rhetoric", and if you look further he has a tragic background. In short, there is no gravitas. GLENN BECK

Its time for an alternative to the Tea Party "folks", issues of which many involved may not fully comprehend. The Coffee party seems to be intent on thoughtfully understanding and process. Hopefully a better dialog will occur.

BTW, The quote you ascribed to Chris Mathew is your personal assessment, not mine.

As Mike suggests it might be more productive to move-off national polarized politics.

Chris Matthews has a long history of working on Capitol Hill. I know he was a speech-writer for Carter and that he served as an aid to several Senators and Representatives.

The guy has political pedigree of sorts. Beck? I'm not sure about him, but I had a look at some sort of chalkboard type thing of his. It was truly bizarre and I couldn't tell if it was a joke or if it was to be taken seriously. It was posted on a website and out of context.

Kathy...last post if you leave me alone.

From your very own Huffington Post.

Nothing will change in Pacifica or the world as long as the left continues to demonize the right and visa versa.

And as far as education - education doesn't mean anything - life experiences and a person's character mean a lot more to me.

Chris Matthews is an embarrassment. So if he is one of your news source, explains a lot.

Steve Sinai said...

Nobody from Fox or MSNBC ought to be used as an authoritative source. It seems pretty obvious that MSNBC's business strategy is to be just as inflammatory as Fox, except from the opposite perspective.

Kathy Meeh said...

Steve, that a pretty broad sweep on your part. First of all Chris Matthew was only quoting Glenn Beck who said something to the effect that "Democrats want to be killed". Another kind of bizarre Beck comment don't you think?

Other observed differences MSNBC political commentators actual use factual, researched information, real data and all that-- and, they try to keep the record accurate and clean. Political commentators on MSNBC are also not suggesting either wild conspiracies, nor are they promoting violence through the use of vocabulary or suggestive action.

Okay Lois, I see the direct quote you mentioned from Chris Matthews posted on Huffington Post (and thanks for that). Well that was his personal comment, and your quote, not mine.

Okay, I have been studying these two quotes and I must honestly say that I cannot make any sense out of either one of them. Can someone please translate them for me?

Life is confusing sometimes, isn't it "Perplexed in Pacifica". You'll either figure it out or you won't. The two statements you quote above are not connect, that's the first clue. Have a happy life!

This is why I posted something about Maybury's copy-editing/proof-reading classes.

Kathy, the second you mention someone from MSNBC as a source, you'll immediately lose the right-wingers; and the second a Fox talking-head is mentioned as a source, it's "see ya' later, lefties".

I used to watch MSNBC all the time, and it's still easier for me to watch than Fox, but people like Ratigan, Maddow and Shultz are always coming up with evil, secret conspiracies on the part of the right. I was once a big fan of Olbermann, but now I can't even watch his angry, righteous indignation-act for more than 10 seconds.

Kathy, I think you've fallen into the "If I agree with it, it must be true" pit.

"I am not a plant. I am a human." - I see Kathleen's taking Mike's advice.

Kathy Meeh said...

Wow Steve, fact vs. delusion = co-equal consideration? Guess that's another assumption I can not agree with so it must not be true.

Similar to you I don't spend a whole lot of time watching these political commentator programs, but I find that Glenn Beck is impossible to track. And, "if I agree with this statement it must be true" for me. Some of us just follow the reliability and the evidence.
