135 Stanley Ave. was approved & the study session took about 1 1/2 hours.

The NIMBY planning commissioners and planning staff member Christian Murdock (aka NIMBOCK) marched down Blackman's list of complaints and unanimously shot each and every one down, before unanimously approving the house. Stupid NIMBYs. I hate NIMBYs.

444, well the newer non-nimby City Planning attitude (expressed by Associate Planner Christian Murdock) was to allow people to improve their property when possible.
And that may be good for everyone going forward.

I like Kathy's POV. Do what's good for all and you can't go wrong--city revenue, homeowner, neighbors, tradespeople. Much smarter and more evolved than denying the permit out of spite and making yourself a defacto nimby. Do the right thing and don't worry about keeping some asinine score.

Doublespeak: approving a project is now being a nimby.

Sam is a good puppet of the Nimbys. In fact, he is the person who gets the Pedro Point Nimbys wound up. Planning wad simply rewarding one of their minions.

Pre-internet and/or without the public service of Meeh and Sinai how many on here would be down at Lotta's Fountain every day with a bullhorn and a sandwich sign? Dude, it's not too late!

Witnessing this project fly through the Planning Commission in record time is good on so many levels:

1. It exposes the complete hypocrisy of the NIMBY's.
2. It dumps the sails on any future accusations hurled at larger than needed "energy hog" homes.
3. It sets a new "low water line" precedent for variance approval of projects that violate codes regarding set-backs, heritage tree infringement, height measurement methodology, building massing and the fuzzy definition of renovation versus demolition/new construction.
4. It obliterates the "historical structure" scams used by NIMBY's. This was one of the original structures built on Pedro Point decades before Pacifica even became a city.
5. It cements the lack of view ordinance.
6. It decriminalizes the movement of dirt.
7. It nullifies the charge that anyone desiring to make a profit on real estate is an "evil money hungry" developer and a hater of Pacifica.
8. It shows that the new path for development in Pacifica is simply to call yourself a "tree hugger" a.k.a. faux-environmentalist.

The only down side of all of this as that this self-proclaimed tree hugger is getting away with it without suffering any of the financial penalties that developers usually have to absorb because of appeals. Hopefully someone will appeal so he can feels the same pain he and his buddies inflict on anyone not in their club.
Thanks you big phony. Build on.

Oh contrare.
He has set new precedence and made it easier for all of us to build in Pacifica.

250 I don't know about "all of us" because it was just a remodel of one house. Probably for himself? Case by case basis.
