"A small motel project for Pedro Point won unanimous approval from the Pacifica Planning Commission.  Last time, the approval was delayed pending working out conditions of approval that included fire safety, security and traffic. New conditions of approval were drafted.

'We came up with the least amount of traffic,' said David Blackman, who presented the project to the commissioners on behalf of property owner Dave Colt. Blackman will construct four detached motel rooms ranging in size from 405 square feet to 519 square feet on a vacant lot at 500 San Pedro Avenue.  Read more (conditions of approval)."

Glad to see this project was approved although I think the term "motel" gives an unnecessary negative connotation to this project. From my knowledge c, Dave Blackman does incredibly high end construction. I'm fairly certain that these cottages will reflect Dave's pride of workmanship.

Whether or not they will be properly managed or maintained will be beyond Dave's control and remains to be seen.

What's not to like? Perfect place for high-end, beachy inn or air bnb. They visit, they spend, they leave. Hospitality is the business Pacifica should be in.

The Project got appealed by Sam Castillas.

The City requested an additional $12,000 to start the appeal process. It might be at City Council late April.

I am hopeful the small motel/Inn will get a approved and be an asset to the neighborhood and Pacifica.

Fight on Dave.
Don't let these creeps get away with this stuff.
Please consider a lawsuit against this hypocritical scumbag when it's all done.
There are thousands of people in Pacifica who will support you morally and financially. This gang of eco thugs have cost us all plenty.

Hopefully, Dave knows better than to count on people in this town helping to support him financially, even when we all potentially benefit. That is, of course, unless he can find a bank willing to cash a check signed by Anonymous.
