NIMBY mandated hillside project, contractor hit a water main

Pacifica Tribune/Jane Northrop, 11/18/14. "Water main damaged a repaired at Harmony@1 site."

Contractor conspiracy
"A contractor installing utilities for the Harmony @ 1 project at Fassler Avenue and Roberts Road accidentally hit and damaged the North Coast County Water District's high pressure 16-inch water main Friday, Nov. 14, at about 1 p.m., said Cari Lemke, general manager of NCCWD.

NCCWD staff quickly isolated the main, the contractor made repairs and the line was back in service by 8 p.m. There were no service interruptions, but residents and businesses in the Rockaway Beach area complained of dirty water, Lemke said. NCCWD took samples and found all results negative, meaning the water meets water quality standards."  Read more.
