Life beyond pyrotechnics

Take the pledge to give-up fireworks:
so much trouble, worth it?
San Mateo County Times/Erin Ivie, 7/22/14. "Pacifica man gets probation for possessing hoard of illegal bombs, explosive materials."

....  "Marc Ormando was arrested by San Francisco police March 6 after a months-long investigation into an explosives incident at a North Beach nightclub corridor, San Francisco police Sgt. Danielle Newman said. ....  prosecutor Kari Gannam said the evidence against Ormando indicated he had no nefarious intent when it came to his explosives. ....

"He is a pyrotechnic buff who attends conferences throughout the country to learn how the explosives could be used for special effects for fireworks shows, music videos, etc.," San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said. He noted that the defense submitted multiple letters from community members discussing fireworks shows he put on for neighborhood kids.

....   Marc Ormando was convicted in San Mateo County court and sentenced to only three years supervised probation.  He was released from jail and ordered to go through counseling; possess no weapons, ammunition or fireworks; and pay upwards of $100,000 to have the explosives removed from his home."   Read article.

Gee, the guy likes stuff that goes boom! Over 900 pounds of explosives, lots of guns and other stuff. In a family home on Seaside Drive. How much stuff did it take to flatten that house on 19th Avenue back in the '90s? It was stored in a basement and still nearly 20 people injured and neighbors a block away were picking up kitchen utensils in their yards after it went boom! Good catch.

Wow, I know for a fact this guy was illegally selling professional grade fireworks locally for years and that's all he got?
