City Council Golf Course Accountability

City Council Accountability - Golf Course Hide and Seek

Imogen Heap "Hide and Seek" (song) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eAKh26bfkpw

Printed words (to the song): http://lyrics.astraweb.com/displayp.cgi?f=imogen_heap..speak_for_yourself..hide_and_seak

On record:

Those who support 18 hole Sharp Park Golf Course

Mayor Lancelle
Councilmember Vreeland
Councilmember Nihart

Those with "no comment"

Councilmember DeJarnatt
Councilmember Digre

Award supplied by Tod Schlesinger

No more hiding city councilmembers on issues which affect this city in a major way. 7 year city council determined "our economy is our recreation". Sharp Park Golf Course is both "recreation" (traditional) and "productive economy" (city top 27 list). By the way did anyone hear from our "business" Chamber of commerce?

Steve made this post better, he change-out their pictures... especially "no comment" love it!

Everything is better as a team effort.

When did Nihart and Vreeland go on the record in support of SPGC? I must have blinked when it happened.

Nihart and Vreeland must have figured out which way the wind is blowing. Even Mirkarimi must have figured it out by now. He'll be asking for a mulligan after watching his mayoral hopes slice into the frog sanctuary on 17. Sorry Ross - you hit that shot - it's on your scorecard now. SF residents like me will remember.

Nihart went on record last night at city council. For two meetings prior I've been asking. Nihart put her comment in a thank you to Lancelle and Vreeland for their effort, so she moved to the "in" column. And she's been working some "economic development" issues so guess she gets a pass on this one.

Vreeland has been supportive of the Golf Course...after all its open space nothing to build which can produce substantial tax revenue for Pacifica. Whether he's also been winking at other local friends its hard to know. Sounds like you've got his number "mw" along with that of Mirkarimi.

Kathy:

I wish it were so but words are cheap. How many times have certain two-faced Councilmembers told each side of an issue that they were on their side?

Actions are the only thing that carries the day - not words. Lancelle was the only Councilmember who supported a CC memo to SF stating Council's support for the golf course and their willingness to work out some sort of financial mitigation for the "supposed" SFRPD budget shortfalls. She was also, the only CC member who supported a historical designation for SPGC which would have made its destruction an order of magnitude more difficult for the Mirkarummies and Platerites.

So if we truly have a CC majority in favor of SPGC retention, why can't they just complete those two simple tasks? Sorry. I just don't trust Vreeland and Nihart. Least we forget their support from the Pacificans for Sustainable Development. And least we forget that PSD members showed up in force at the CC meeting regarding the SPGC historical designation in order to kill the proposal.

BTW, if we can name a concet hall after Mildred Owen, a street after Bill Drake, and a barbecue after a gorilla, surely we can give SPGC a historical designation. IMHO...
