Richard, thanks for your 1/20/11 Sharp Park Golf course/water recycling update letter. Great environmental win in Pacifica for everyone (including "the disgruntled"). SF Recreation and Parks commission also seems to know how to cut through the nonsense (6-0 vote, no surprise).

Even higher water fees to cover to cover the loan? Screw that !

Anon 8:16am, we'll be hearing more, but I think moving into the 21st century, with water conservation through utilization of recycled water is a good thing. There are also Federal and State Utility grants on the total project delivery. And, this fulfills in part CA Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) guidelines.

Some background information from the initial 2008 NCCWD project proposal. Note: "recycled water is used successfully for agricultural and landscape irrigation, industrial processes, and toilet flushing throughout California. Locally, San Jose, Santa Clara, Santa Rosa, and other Bay Area communities use it on their parks, school grounds, median strips, large landscaped areas and golf courses. Nationally, recycled water has been used for landscape irrigation for many years in states such as Arizona, Florida and Texas."

The Plater Party will come in shortly complaining about what a waste it is to spend money on this project since the golf course is slated for extinction, according to them. I also heard recently that Plater stated the course could close and nobody would blink an eye! It's these kind of bald faced lies that make Plater not credible.
