Replacement Ballots

If you have thrown away your assessment tax ballot when it came in the mail a few weeks ago without realizing it was the fire assessment parcel ballot for your property there are replacement ballot available at City Hall through the City Clerks office.

Each ballot is specific to each parcel and that parcels owner so if your ballot(s) was lost, thrown out or not received you can request a replacement ballot by calling our city clerk, Kathy O'Connell, a very approachable city staffer at 650 738 7300 or by visiting City Hall in person at 170 Santa Maria Avenue (just off Francisco Avenue a few blocks down from Winters Bar) and request a replacement ballot.

Whether you want to vote yes or no (please vote no) you can get a replacement ballot very easily from a very nice city staffer. And please fill it out and send it in. The ballots will be tallied by the dollar amount shown on each ballot not a simple majority of ballots received, so the more your parcel is assessed the more your vote count. I know it sounds like something Daffy Duck thought up but if you have a non residential commercial parcel assessed at $678 your vote is worth 9 times what my residential parcel vote is worth. So your vote really is very valuable
