More Love From Riptide

And more proof that blog has drifted so far left, it's heading into oncoming traffic.  You'd think the ruling elite of Pacifica would be content with their power, but no.  They have to crush any dissenting voices with faux outrage and condescending ridicule.  You'd think lovers of a free country would support free speech and opposing views, but not the radical left in Pacifica.

I wanted to single out former Pacifican and professional political operative Ken Restivo for his comment:

"Looks like a blog for Jeff Simons, Lois Rogan, and their ilk. And why not? There's FreeRepublic, RedState (don't Rogan and Simons now live in red states anyway?), Drudge, etc. Go for it. I predict it will go the way of Frank Cimo's column."

First of all, I have no "ilk."  I have some very dear friends, human beings who don't deserve to be dehumanized.  Second, I believe Lois Rogan lives in Red Bluff . . . CALIFORNIA.  But I don't follow the whole "red state, blue state" mentality.  Its passe, its simplistic, it shows no imagination, and its only used by political hacks like Drudge, Beck, et al . . . well, I'll let the President of the United States chime in on the subject:

"The pundits like to slice-and-dice our country into red states and blue states - red states for Republicans, and blue states for Democrats. But I've got news for them, too. We worship an awesome God in the blue states, and we don't like federal agents poking around our libraries in the red states. We coach Little League in the blue states and have gay friends in the red states. ... We are one people, all of us pledging allegiance to the stars and stripes, all of us defending the United States of America." - from Barack Obama's keynote address before the 2004 Democratic National Convention.

You stay classy, Restivo.  Ken, by the way, is a political hack for Ross Mirkarimi, the District 5 Supervisor in San Francisco who seems to be heading up the Remove Sharp Park Golf Course movement on behalf of Brent Plater and the CBD.  How easy it is to connect the dots, even from Texas (where I am still registered as a Democrat, thank you very much).

Judge for yourself (hint: you may want to turn down your volume):

I did a google search on "ken restivo blog" and found his blog. There was a big picture of a guy picking his nose. Was that Ken?

Did anyone else notice that Maybury devoted about 2/3 of his column in the Tribune last week to one of his Riptide advertisers, including one section that was basically an advertising blurb?

Seems like a conflict of interest... I wonder if Elaine knows that she's subsidizing his propaganda factory.

AnonyMoose: I would rather read about a chiropractor than one of the usual Wandering and Wondering blurbs announcing a class in something like organic twig and dandelion cooking.

Saw the Restivo YouTube vid. He kinda reminds me of John Lennon -- without that talent thingy. Woof!

This is hate speech. You are hateful pigs that hatefully feed at the hateful trough of hateful Karl Rove.

Jeff Simons and Triumph the Insult Dog are full of hate. I hate both of you haters. How can a cute, little dog be so full of hate? He must have a very hateful owner.

John Maybury and Riptide have no hate.

Summer/Winter/Kathy,

I'll ignore the delicious irony/hypocrisy of you complaining of hate speech by telling someone that you hate them for now...

Did you actually read that wikipedia article you referenced? It just confirms that the editor of Riptide throws that term around incorrectly and way too casually, and verifies that he could probably use some help from a professional editor.

Winter: Your comments leave a bad taste in my mouth. Oops. Never mind. I forgot I was licking myself.
