Sierra Club you stink!

You don't support golfers?  Apparently you don't support people, people's activities, or our city.  By the way, Pacifica has enough unproductive open space; and to be considered, there is a human population living in that neighborhood.   Personally, I stopped supporting your organization years ago when you campaigned against underground parking for the de Young museum in Golden Gate park. That garage is busy, where would all those people in cars park? The following is a broadcasted Sierra Club email received by a friend.  A variation of this text is posted on their website, available through the email links.

Smokestacks
SC website - Does this look like a RLF?
"Did you know that two federally-protected species live on a golf course owned by the City of San Francisco? The land is currently operated by the City and County of San Francisco as a golf course. Millions of dollars would need to be spent to preserve the area as a golf course, but the greatest cost will be the continued destruction of the wildlife that call Sharp Park home.

Ask the San Francisco Board of Supervisors to create a more sustainable public park, while saving area taxpayers money, by partnering with the National Park Service.  http://action.sierraclub.org/site/R?i=ChhEVqxainVtI9FZ83AxyQ  Sharp Park, in Pacifica, has a unique combination of habitats -- a  rare fresh water lagoon system surrounded by uplands -- that create the ideal habitat for two species: the endangered San Francisco Garter Snake, and the beloved California red-legged frog. In order to make the changes to the property in a way that is ecologically sound, the Sierra Club is recommending a partnership with the National Parks Service (NPS) to manage the park for hiking, biking, and habitat restoration. Please send a letter to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors urging long-term protection for San Francisco's unique wildlife. http://action.sierraclub.org/site/R?i=hJfOuy483xxr0UQ9KPRY2A  With your help, we can create the opportunity to partner with the NPS, an organization that has the funding and expertise to properly manage the land. Together, we can create a more sustainable public park and

And, here's their example letter: "Sharp Park Golf Course is a drain on city resources that should be used for services and recreation space within the city. The property is also home to the federally protected California red-legged frog and the endangered San Francisco garter snake. The golf market is oversupplied in the Bay Area, making it hard to turn a profit leading to increases in fees. San Francisco has five other public golf courses for use, yet fails to meet the recreational needs of families and residents who want more hiking and biking trails."

From another email (this one from Jim Wagner), here's a better place to respond.  Send Mayor Ed Lee a message that you support 80 year old, classic San Francisco Golf Course in Pacifica, which is busy, benefits recreation, is compatible with habitat, and pays it way.  http://sfmayor.org/index.aspx?page=7

If you hate the Sierra Club why are you illegally linking to a copyrighted photo on their website. Do you also think the laws against stealing stink too? I've notified them of the copyright violation.

Click on the frog, and you go to a Sierra Club sign-up page.

I don't see anything that says the photo of the frog is copyrighted.

The choice for me was a) the frog in their email link, or b) a bullfrog. I leaped toward the higher path, but if provoked could gobble-up the alternative.

Anon (1117) there are laws against "stealing stink?" Ha! Here's a recent stinky frog article. Stinky frogs are okay and may be hugely beneficial in a discovery against antibiotic-resistance. "Lame-brain" Sierra Club obstruction to civilization (people), on the other hand, from my view, is like the resistance bacteria.
