Nurses plan strike at Mills-Peninsula hospital 12/22/11

What bad kitty?
Of course you were not planning to be a patient on that Thursday anyhow, right?

Contra Costa Times/Inside Bay Area, 12/9/11. "A union representing registered nurses announced Friday it will wage a one-day strike on Dec. 22 against at least six Sutter hospitals in the Bay Area. The California Nurses Association/ National Nurses United said little progress has been made in its negotiations for a new contract since it held a similar one-day walkout in September.

That strike generated heated debate when several of the hospitals locked out striking nurses for five days and a patient at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland died after a replacement nurse reportedly made a medical error. Hospitals affected by the Dec. 22 walkout will include Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Oakland and Berkeley, Sutter Delta in Antioch, Mills-Peninsula hospitals in Burlingame and San Mateo, and Sutter Solano in Vallejo, union leaders said."

Wow how nice of the KP nurses! These big corporations should realize that without us in the labor force, there's no way they can exist. It's about time they come out of their greed and give us what we work so hard for! We're not asking for wage/benefits increase, we're just asking for a "status quo!"
