Hey, thanks for the free publicity. Is that Don scratching the blackboard? Did you snap this when he was in town making good on his promise of building some sports fields whether he won or not? Reading this blog is kinda like reading Lord of the Flies...who's going to get pushed off the cliff next? I find it amusing when you all start barking at eachother and calling eachother morons. You are having so much fun! Keep it up, it will keep you young!

Dearest Nancy:

What a privilege it is to have a celebrity of your caliber visit our humble little blog. Yes, Peebles did make good on his promise. Thanks for asking. I suggest you take some time out from your busy recording and touring schedule and visit the Quarry. You will see many people of all ages walking dogs, riding bikes, hiking, playing frisbee, etc. on Don's de facto sports field which he seems to have donated (gratis) to Pacifica. Pretty magnanimous of him considering how you, Nancy Hall, treated him. He REALLY must have loved that little love song thingy you dedicated to him.

BTW, we sent a copy of your "Peebles Love Song" to the producers at American Idol. Unfortunately, they aren't looking for anymore Bob Dylan impersonators for next season but they suggested that you might try Sproul Plaza at UC Berkeley. Apparently, there is some extra room next to the screaming preacher in the frog costume.

Say hi to Neil for us. Tell him we love his bio-fuel thingy idea. Yes, conversing with you will definitely keep us young - "Forever Young". Oh wait, I stole that from Neil. So did you! Wait... there's more:

May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
May your hands always be busy,
May your feet always be swift,
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful,
May your song always be sung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

Rather than the petty sniping that you and our resident juvenile seem to enjoy, I'm honestly curious how you feel about helping to successfully eliminate (along with your cohorts) any kind of revenue-producing development in this commmunity. Do you think that, had the city brought in more revenue, they'd be able to pay for more services and not layoff as much staff? Do you think they could contribute more to the resource center at a time when they need it most? Do you think they could have repaired the wastewater treatment plant and kept untreated sewage from flowing into the ocean? What do you think the fines for that incident could have paid for? Could it have helped some peoples' lives?

Unlike most of the others here, I don't hold the grease refinery fiasco against you. It lost us some money, but at least it had the potential to bring a small amount in at some point. Other than it's odd location and the questions about favoritism from some of our local politicos, I actually commend you on that effort.

Don't pay any attention to that crabby old man, Scotty. He will always be "forever old and crabby". Scotty, please visit a dentist ASAP!

Now let's get back to the business at hand. Don't you think Dylan sold out with his latest Christmas album? I mean, "I Caught Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" can hardly be construed as a protest song, can it?

Lance sez,
I understand that Ms. Hall is donating all the proceeds from her Christmas concert and CD to the city to help cover the 130k+ she cost us for her bio diesel hallucination

Will you clowns do the same thing in the next city council election as you did in the last one, which was pick the two most immature and juvenile candidates you can find to represent you? Hope so. Even if you don't like the current council members, at least they act like adults.

ya know, someday I really would love to sit you all down and tell you my side of both of those stories, but you seem to prefer whatever fiction you can string together. There is so much more to both my relationship to L and the BD plant than you can imagine, it's not as black and white a cartoon version as you might prefer since that version gives you such a handy villain. But My wrists would give out before I could tell it here. Also, what is with all the hiding behind fake names?

Lance sez,
Fake names! Oh, for shame!
Heronymous Anonymous: Famous Roman general. Invaded Russia in December. Didn't turn out well. Brother, Doubting Thomas, advisor to Heronymous, didn't make the wisest choices either. Many of their decendants now make Pacifica their home.

Fake names? What the hey are you talking about? Fake names...

I know what you mean about the wrists, Miss Nancy. My wrists gave out on me too but for a different reason.

I guess I meant "handles" rather than fake names.
I just noticed that a lot of people seemed to be using a nickname, but actually now I see that some do use real names.
