He said that given that the complex's tenants
are projected to be working within walking distance, Greenheart expects
the location to help minimize traffic impacts by reducing the number of
people commuting to work at places such as Facebook. Zip cars, bike
sharing and Facebook's shuttle program are expected to help.

Related - Daily News/Bonnie Eslinger, 3/18/14. "Seven apartment building could rise behind Facebook's 'West Campus' in Belle Haven." A
developer is proposing to construct seven market-rate apartment
buildings in eastern Menlo Park and wouldn't mind seeing some employees
from the neighboring Facebook campus move in. "I think it's likely
to be pretty popular," Steve Pierce, a principal with developer
Greenheart Land Co., said Monday. "We expect quite a few Facebook
employees. They'll be able to walk, or they'll probably be skateboarding
and using their Razors," he added, referring to a brand of scooters
favored by young hipster professionals. Greenheart Land Co. wants
to build seven 3-story apartments totalling 195 units on 6.5 acres at
721-881 Hamilton Ave. between Carlton and Windermere avenues, just west
of the "West Campus" that Facebook is building in the Belle Haven
neighborhood. Facebook's main campus is on the other side of the
Bayfront Expressway, where it intersects with Willow Road.
Daily News/Bonnie Eslinger, 11/20/13 "Menlo Park's downtown plan survives city council's review with minor tweaks, 11/20/13. "And about half a mile away at 1300 El Camino Real, developer Greenheart Land Company wants to turn seven acres into 216 apartments, 194,000 square feet of offices and 16,000 square feet of retail space, according to plans recently submitted to the city.
Silicon Valley Business Journal/Nathan Donato-Weinstein, 7/24/13. "St. Anton's new Menlo Park apartment project comes with built-in sports pub, doggy day care." "Menlo Park has gone at least 20 years without a single significant new apartment building. But now a little rain is about to break the city's drought of multifamily residential development. St. Anton Partners has received major city and state approvals to rezone a 10-acre industrial site for a $120 million apartment project that will add nearly 400 housing units to the Peninsula city. .... The attraction for the company is clear: Located in the "Haven industrial area" near the intersection of Marsh Road and Highway 101, it is about 2 miles down Bayfront Expressway from the jobs bonanza that is the expanding Facebook corporate headquarters. .... St. Anton is planning for 10 to 12 percent of its units to affordable, Geremia said, allowing it to take advantage of a state "density bonus." But the entire project is decidedly upscale, with a tech-worker-friendly bent: Think resort-style pool and cabana area, rooftop deck, concierge service, yoga rooms, and "iCafe." (St. Anton is widely known for its work on affordable as well as "blended" projects.)"

Every other city has a "can do" attitude. Meanwhile, Pacifica is broke, dirty, and bankrupt!
http://www.sfgate.com/default/article/S-F-mayor-calls-for-huge-boost-in-affordable-5521549.php
Mayor Ed Lee is proposing funneling $94 million in public money over the next two years into constructing affordable housing in San Francisco as the city grapples with stratospheric rents and increased evictions driven by a booming economy that is also causing a surge in tax revenue.
Pacifica is like an alien autopsy. You know it happened but no one talks about it.
The project shown for Hamilton Ave is beautiful. Perfect for Palmetto/Beach Blvd or along Oceana or on Francisco. Get some of that city-owned property on the market and leave the sewer fund alone.
