Don't tell our next city manager about this |
Palo Alto Daily News/Bonnie Eslinger, Staff, 1/12/13. "Atherton council to consider giving city manager more money because he doesn't want to live in town mansion."
Before George Rodericks agreed in October to become Atherton's top administrator, he told council members he was reluctant to move into the designated city manager's house on Watkins Avenue because he already has a home in Mill Valley and family ties in that area.
According to a town memo, Rodericks indicated during contract negotiations he would prefer to commute to his Atherton job but was willing to make a final decision by June. In the meantime, the council agreed to give him a monthly housing and travel allowance of $2,500." Read article.

Atherton and Mill Valley..ummm
Hey, maybe we could lure a real economic development sort of city manager with free housing...still some bargains out there...houses not city managers. Who wouldn't jump at the chance to live in Pacifica? City needn't buy it, they could lease one. Put one of our hotshot realtors on it!
