"After voters turned down $96-per-parcel taxes in 2010 and 2011, the district has returned with a $48-per-parcel measure on the June 5 ballot. Measure Y would raise $1.5 million a year for four years.
The district -- which operates five high schools serving Daly City, Pacifica, Brisbane, Colma and Broadmoor -- has stripped nearly $6 million from its budget since the recession began in 2008, officials say. It has reduced counseling and negotiated staff furloughs, among other cuts." Read Article.
