And, if you missed the last one here it is found on facebook, a representation of this blog. FAR RIGHT POLITICS AGAIN Charming.

This scary gloom and doom Stephen Frank Republican guy even criticized the Governor for making a California commercial while on vacation or doing business in Idaho. And, the Steven Frank economic solution for California is not green technology, but apparently similar to Sarah Palin its "drill baby drill". The video must be from last year, he said the State would close down THE VIDEO Did the State close down? "Hello Sacramento". Last I checked the deficit in California was -$20 Billion, that's a lot but "the sky is not yet falling".

Where else is Stephen Frank? Well here he is on the right-wing petition promoted "First Amendment Now" website. In fact he's the Lead Political Strategist, Director.

The home page includes a quick "red meat" video of Past President Bill Clinton talking about the need for a "fairness doctrine" or balance with regard to right wing talk shows. Take a closer look at what looks like "all American patriotic support of "free speech". Nothing could be further from the truth, the petition campaign is designed to promote and protect "hate" radio. THE FIRST AMENDMENT ORGANIZATION NOT

Do you hate all people on the right? Are all people on the right wrong? Do you have no room for compromise or to hear another point? When the world becomes to full of people of like minds , it's time to shake things up and change minds, because I don't know about you, but nothin is working to well and everyone is going broke. California is on the news everyday, mostly left wing media, about how the mayor, gov is trying to lay people off cut services, lost another manufacturing business (NUMMI). What are you not hearing?? I don't hear how great things are around here from any of (you voted for not me) elected officials. I ask you - what the fuck are you not hearing?????

What's happening in the country right now from the far right does not seem to be fact driven, it is radicalized, it is irrational and it is violent. Of course, the country is in a deep recession which to some extent seems to have stabilized, first step back.

Today according to Chris Mathews on "Hard Ball", Glenn Beck said something to the effect the "Democrats (leadership in Washington DC) wishes you would kill them". Funny comment? No, not funny. So where is all this hate coming from, and just how far does the far right wish to push the 1st Amendment? The language from far right media is full of violence, and Democrat Senators, Congressional leaders and the President are all being threatened.

Those of us on the local sidelines are now hearing and seeing the non-researched, non-fact, screwed-up information and attitude passed through from whatever sources you are viewing or listening to. And, this blog was never intended to be a polarized forum for a national politicized debate.

With Fix Pacifica some of us would hope the dialog would include more of a broad, public conversation directed toward the need for economic progress in this city.

Of course personally I see merit in some national event inclusion, but would hope to reduce the conflict which becomes associated with incompatible-to-fact far left or far right ideology. On both sides there is polarization, and we seem to hit-the-wall.

While it's good to have a variety of viewpoints, it's not so good when the blog gets hijacked and totally dominated by fringe viewpoints, which is what's happening.

Having a lot of heated, extremist rhetoric repeated dozens of times a day by the same people gets old fast, and drives others away. Anyone who posts more than ten comments a day, every day, needs to stop taking the blog so seriously and go get a life.

Also, the peeps currently accused of being far-left by our resident conservative wing-nuts, were the same ones accused of being far-right Rovians by liberal wing-nuts over on Riptide.

If I wanted to read the lunatic rantings on the Free Republic website, I'd go there.

Aren't their editors on this blog? Why don't they exercise some editorial license and remove the off-topic posts.

When someone posts a story about the roadway widening project and some dimwit starts posting about ABORTION!!! and COMMIES!! using random caps and plenty of extra punctuation, it's ridiculous and we are unable to have a civil productive discussion.

I say three strikes and you're out. Give Kathleen two strikes.

It is all a matter of opinion what you think is screwed up information or not. Majority of what is happening in the world does not get reported on mainstream media. Today it is important to know what is really going on. We can no longer make quick decisions based on the fact that the person that is offering the answer to our problems has a D or R next to their name. You need to research, read everything, take all points and make your decision. Blogs have become tough competition for newspapers and network and local news. And, word is they are beating. Blogs put information out there and people discuss and debate. If you continually become offended, outraged by what you read because you think differently then you have no business reading and posting on a blog. No crybabies.

I get tired of lunatic rantings also, but free speech is a double-edged sword. If off-topic posts are removed, people will start ranting about what is or isn't "off-topic" and accusing the blog of censorship.

It would just be trading one problem for another.

You just can't make everyone happy. It is impossible.

Amen to that thought Mike. She actually criticized my son in another thread for being part of group trying to educate his peers against high school drinking.

I think she's got a screw loose and is THIS close to going off about mind control and people stealing her thoughts. She needs some help. I'm serious.

I'm sure she thinks she's the only sane person on the blog.

It is interesting to wonder about what causes people to become so obsessed.
