Chamber hosting 'Meet and Greet' with Recology of the Coast - March 18, 5-7 PM
The Pacifica Chamber of Commerce will be sponsoring a "meet and greet" with the community's new refuse removal service, Recology of the Coast, this Thursday, March 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Nick's Restaurant, Rockaway Beach. This no-host event will allow businesses to ask how the new company will meet their recycling and trash removal needs now and in the future. Recology of the Coast is a subsidiary of Recology, Inc., and has been organized and doing business under the current legal structure since 1988.
Recology, Inc. is a pioneer in the recycling industry, with a recycling history that began in the 1920s, and now is one of the largest recyclers in Northern California. Recology was one of the first companies in Northern California to implement curbside recycling in the 1970s and household hazardous waste collection for residential customers.
Recology employs a workforce of approximately 2,100. About 1,500 employees are under union contract.

Let's ask them how they like taking a city who has such clueless leaders that they could get the highest rates in San Mateo County AND PUMP THEM HIGHER! YES! This is a major victory for capitalist excesses and civic incompetence!
March 18 Lionel, did you ask them? Guess not.
No commerce here to help pay the overhead, city takes a bite, etc.
Probably best to get a 20 gallon can, keeping your rates as low as possible, and recycle.
Ask them what?
How the city exercised no oversight and allowed unlimited gouging between 1995 and 2006?
Ask your buddy at CS that question and report back to us.
Looks like the City Council got the wool pulled over the eyes once again.
How many times do they have to pull the football away Charlie Brown till you get the message!
Remember this is the second time CS got caught. The city went in and did an audit years back, they had no computers and kept the books by hand. Probably two different sets.
I don't blame CS for this I blame the incompetant and buffons on the council and our City Attorney's passed and present who can not even read a contract and decide if it is good or bad.
BTW Kathy, did you ever find your garbage can???
"Snookered City" and Lionel, this is Pacifica, I'm just happy to have my garbage picked-up on a regular weekly, efficient basis by anyone.
Funny thing about the garbage can that blew away during our storms. End of mystery: Two weeks later the can appear dented against a fence across the street a few houses down. Three weeks later the can lid appeared next to my back yard stairs (wasn't there prior). Almost gives you hope for living in this community-- or, confirmation nothing worth taking.
Hey Kathy, I am surprised you didnt't try to blame the missing garbage can on me, being you try to blame everything else wrong in the world on me!!!!!!!!
You can blame Jimbo for going to a bad basketball school, though.
Jim, your words "you try to blame everything else wrong in the world on me!!!!!!!!" Now that is "garbage", but I found the official website of an old-timer you might enjoy...
CARLY SIMON
Kathy
If I am an old timer, does that make you an even older timer?
BTW Kathy, Carly Simon was one of my first crushed way back when..
Of course, I was teasing you with "you're so
vain", but its clear she's worth your crush.
These articles are fantastic; the information you show us is interesting for everybody and is really good written. It’s just great!! Do you want to know something more? Read it...: Great investment opportunity in Costa Rica
Swell, where did this guy come from? Oh, move to Costa Rica, that should solve our "fix Pacifica" problem. "Maybe pass the hat" and send 3 out of 4 council members a one-way ticket in the Fall.
