Inner Editor: Copyediting/Proofreading Workshops

Let's face it. Some people here need this. (Including me.)

Do you have an eagle eye? Do you correct your family, friends, and colleagues when they make mistakes in English? If so, you might have inherited good grammar genes, i.e., genetic predisposition. Or you might be a conscientious, hardworking student of the language. Whatever the case, here is your chance to learn how to make a living as a copy editor or proofreader. This Saturday afternoon noncredit class offers career tips and lively discussion. Instructor John Maybury is an experienced writer and editor, working in the Bay Area since the days of typewriters and carbon paper. GOOFBUSTER

-- John and I were discussing the nuances of transitive vs. intransitive verbs, and it reminded me of the classes he offered.
