Public-private partnership for Sharp Park?

Thursday, December 31, 2009

San Francisco may rely more on corporate and philanthropic sponsors and community volunteers to fund and maintain its parks and recreation centers as it struggles with a mounting budget deficit.

That is the hope of Phil Ginsburg, general manager of the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department, who recently returned from New York City and was wowed by the public-private partnership operating Central Park.

The Central Park Conservancy, relying heavily on money from sponsorships, has invested more than $500 million in the showcase urban park in nearly three decades.

That commie Mirkarimi needs to go. Not everything is created equal. Politicians like him are hell bent on getting everyone on some entitlement program, and pay for it off the backs of the middle class, which is almost extinct. Then who will pay for entitlements? Cali has more peeps on the gov dole than working. Running in the red.....for how long? Me thinks they are perfectly happy with the sad state of things. Get the people weak and hungry and dangle a gov entitlement if front of them and then they are beholden to the government - a slave.

Now Supervisor Mirkarimi (Chairman of the Supervisors sub-committee to consider what to do with Sharp Park Golf Course) is a "commie", Kathleen?

Although Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi was seemingly not a supporter of keeping Sharp Park Golf Course, his verbal concerns at the hearings were clearly about asking all the questions, lack of playing fields, and how Sharp Park golf course 3 options (A-18, A-9, A-0) would be paid for. He was interested in the Pacifica city and San Mateo county joining San Francisco city and county in cost sharing. How does that make him a commie?

There is no evidence Supervisor Mirkarimi is a member of the Communist Party, nor is he involved in such extended revolutionary activities. He does belong to the Green party. Yet, here you are again spouting misinformation right off-the-top-of-your-head. Here's a link to his website http://www.rossmirkarimi.com/

Since you are on the far right side of political ideology what is an appropriate counterpart name for the lack of connective reason and misinformation you present?

Is it that you do not you think people of a city should have parks, playing fields and other such recreation amenities (other than Sharp Park golf which you do support)?

By entitlements this time are you referring to the delivery of unemployment insurance protection paid by employees and businesses through FICA taxes for the emergency of actual unemployment. And, if so how does that equate to "they are beholden to the government-a slave". Is it better to just have hoards of people starving, diseased, disparate out on the streets?

Several comment postings back you made another off-handed comment, something about thinking of getting involved in civil war. Do you mean in this country, do tell us more about that.
