SF Public Golf Alliance: Important "Save Sharp Park" Update

Dear San Francisco Public Golf Alliance Members,

We have cleared another hazard.  San Francisco Recreation  & Park Department on Friday published its Report on Sharp Park recommending that Sharp Park Golf Course be saved as an 18 hole facility.  See the attached links for news coverage (SF Chronicle; KGO-ABC 7)

Your advocacy and support are making a difference!  But the game is not over. We are on the third hole of a long round with this effort to Save Sharp Park.

The all-volunteer SF Public Golf Alliance has built support from a growing regional and national coalition of golfers, environmentalists, labor unions, community activists, working families, professional superintendents and golfers and political leaders to preserve affordable, eco-friendly golf.

The opponents are still growling. They will not rest and neither can we. Follow us on Facebook and tell your friends to sign up at sfpublicgolf.com.  We will keep you up to date on developments as they happen and need your continued support and dedication to public golf.

Now head out to your favorite course and play 18!

If you read the Chronicle article referenced in this post, you'll see that since the study's recommendation wasn't what Mirkarimi hoped for, he's already dismissing it.

He's still looking for a way to close the golf course.

What way do you think he will go?

Does anyone know the stated position of each Pacifica City Councilmember regarding SPGC?

Good question.

Julie Lancelle has been very vocal in support of saving the golf course, for which I do give her credit.

Yeah, I think I saw her there at the fundraiser. I think someone needs to send letters to SF City Council. I wonder if the gold alliance has done that.

One of Mirikimi's districts he reps is hunters point. I wonder if there are many golfers that live in that district.

Steve Sinai said...

Do you ever get anything right, Kathleen? (No)

Mirkarimi's district is around the Japantown area. It's not anywhere close to Hunter's Point.

Kathleen Rogan said...

No, it's not officially his district but he acts like it is, sticking his nose in their business a Francisco Da Costa hates Sophia Maxwell and calls her horrible names. Da Costa is called a commie by some locals that have lived in hunters point forever, he and mirikarimi stick together like glue.

Don't get your panies in such a bunch , Steve. I know you're just dying to prove anything and everythng I say wrong. I think my skin is a little to tough for your soft games. You either help or you become a problem, what is it gonna be?
