"Parts of El Granada are under a boil-water order after a Sunday night water main break in Miramar. Coastside County Water District General Manager Dave Dixon said that 150 customers are affected. They are being alerted with door hangers and CCWD staff is working late on Monday to handle calls from concerned residents.

The problem started Sunday afternoon, in a field near Magellan Avenue in Miramar. Dickson said a cast iron water main burst and the district lost “a lot of water” as a result. The rupture caused water to rush through the system from the district’s El Granada tanks and “brown water” flushed through the system. Some local residents reported water pressure problems overnight. The district reported the situation to the State Water Resources Control Board, which required the boil water notice for some El Granada customers. Dickson said other customers may see discolored water but that it remains safe for consumption through most of the system."  Read more.
