hopefully Tinfoe has sealed her fate with item 9, and will be moving on soon.

Todd 729, fortunately the City management team is in process. And that management team is just what this city has needed to improve.

But, do correct any errors in my understanding of your support of city chaos, as follows:
Better to tie-up the City business meeting for 3+ hours asking for an item to be placed on the next meeting (for another probable 3+ hour civic circus), which is exactly what happened 10/26/15.

Except, in this instance, not only did Councilmember Keener waste productive city business time for 3+ hours-- he was so intent on scheduling that next meeting item, he would have subjected this city to lawsuit, and voided the evicted tenant compensation package (negotiated by the city with the landlord), here.

I believe that Tinfow is up for a performance evaluation tonight in closed session.

It appeared to me that concerned citizens spoke mostly, not John Keener.John Keener spoke for renters concerns with direct action.

Sorry correction the City Attorney is up for a performance review!

Not sure why Tinfoe would do this, seems like career suicide.

Kathy Meeh said...

1226, bringing this city into efficiency and financial sustainability probably does sound like "suicide" to anti-everything positive, obstructionists political NIMBIES.
The rest of us admire the entire City management team moving this City forward.

Go to www.pacifica.city It looks like the trailer park may be going away. The people who were fighting their evictions may have gone to one too many government agency. How long will city council be tonight if they show up in mass to fight converting the park? Better bring a pillow.

City Council Item 9, nothing changed, but there was a City Council discussion about respect for the process, goals that are limited, financial constraints of the City, and civility.
It's doubtful that the angry overreaction from the orchestrated audience contingent had much affect on the outcome and decision of City Council.

Nothing changed, it was rejected.

ooh! City Manager got *spanked*

Anonymous said...

Watched it on tv last night, and all I can say is wow.

City manager kept repeating "I am the ceo of this city! I am the boss of this city".

Unbelievable and the best must see TV in Pacifica in the thirty two years I lived here!

Anybody know anything at all about the assistant city manager?

741 They just wouldn't dare. Not this time, but you can bet our bureaucratic megaminds are in overdrive because there's just gotta be a way to stop people who insist on blocking the road to progress.

Anonymous said...

741 that voting is all at the state level. Local pols dont have any influence over open spaces etc. Its completely out of their control.

I do like the idea of an amendment requiring the city manager to have at least one sponsoring council woman or man to place an agenda item.

City manager isn't elected, they are not the boss of the council people they are support staff that help them implement the right decisions after they are made.

Tinfow looks like she is a minute away from a serious meltdown!

And as the CEO she should have the hide of a rhino. Don't they come with that in public sector jobs? Sure do on the private side. Spare us the demeaning 'play nice' baloney from council.

I don't see it anywhere, where can we watch the City Council meetings?

This one I've got to see.

Lancelle, "the wise one", condescended to the council last night that she understood their pain and that all they have to do is do the bidding of the NOBY elite and everything will be fine. This is coming from the Queen of Double Talkers and Fence Sitters.
Please council, do not take any advice from this Vreeland protégé who "mis-placed" $4,500,000 tax dollars and botched every opportunity Pacifica had for financial stability. Her legacy, along with her cohorts deJarnutt, Digre and Vreeland, is why we are in the mess that we find ourselves in today.
She is a puppet for the NOBIES who have zero expertise on how to run a city but claim to be the smartest people in the room. These are the same people who are salivating for Tinfow's demise simply because she is trying to do some common sense governing.
What a joke.

Tinfow's problem is she really does believe she is the CEO of Pacifica.

Once in awhile it would be nice to see some sort of recognition that she understands what coastal folk care about.

The clock on Lorie Tinfow's stay in Pacifica may be ticking, but when she bails out of here it will be her that pulls the ripcord.

One doesn't pull that kind of maneuver without having your printer paper tray full and ready to spit out a hundred resumes.

She has been taking a lot of out of town trips lately that might explain what's about to happen next.

1236, City of Pacifica General Manager Lori Tinfow is CEO of the City of Pacifica-- and she's excellent at what she is doing for City Council and the City.
Tinfow and her management team are the best thing that has happened to this City since NIMBIES lost control of City Council, hence to some extent the City.
And what a mess those NIMBIES left. Reread the comment from 1234 above.

Many comments made by NIMBIES prior to and at the city council meeting last night were disrespectful, misdirected and twisted.
Their "anti-democracy" drama railing against item 9 was STUPID. The suggested Item 9 process for individual City Councilmembers initiating items to a meeting agenda occurs in some other cities (all considered functioning within the law and "democratic" process).

Interesting the NIMBIES wouldn't like "alternatives", since living in an alternative world does seem to be their thing.
126, back at you. Hope your "clock is ticking", so we can pull the "ripcord" on you and your pacific.city website.
At the same time, some of us think Lori Tinfow and the all star management team are keepers.

1230, look at the top of the article to find the YouTube replay of last night's City Council meeting (if it's yet posted).

Item #9 was negated by council because every speaker was against it.City Manager Tinfow caused this long meeting of protests because she wants total control over agendizing. No one on council supported it because of political repercussions.

Kathy 126 is gone now what did pacifica.city say to you?

I feel bad for Tinfow. This is a very mean spirited town.
NOBIES live in Bizarro World.
Good is bad.
Progress is failure.
Killing opportunity is victory.
I really hope that the adults pay attention this time around and resist this group of selfish, needy little brats and tell Lancelle, their mommie, to go away.

Anonymous said...

I feel bad for Tinfow too. She gave up a very good job in Walnut Creek to come work here for peanuts and has been treated very badly by the enviro wingnuts who live here.

Council meeting videos are posted on youtube. Usually it takes a couple of days after the meeting for them to be posted. Look for it on Wednesday. Search on Pacifica City Council meeting.

Kathy Meeh said...

213, thanks for the heads-up inquiry.
And 325, isn't it the case that NIMBIES treat everyone who does not serve their cult badly?
413, guess what, last night's council meeting YouTube is already posted at Pacific Coast TV, here, 3 hours, 39 minutes.

213, apparently Dan Stegink removed his comment-- sneaky, yet noisy troublemaker isn't he? Next time any of us catch one of his missiles, and cares to respond, its probably best to repeat his comment.

Stegink was talking about City General Manager Lori Tinfow having a "ticking time clock" (employment contract with the City until 2017, I think).
From that, it's easy to read that he and his "Gang of No" buddies will celebrate when Tinfow's "clock" stops, the contract ends, and she leaves.
(Whereas, most of us are thankful and appreciative of the work she and her management team are doing to sustain this City. And hope she and they will stay until the work is done, could be about 20 years).

Unwelcoming, nasty comment from Stegink, of course. But for him and other NIMBIES it seems the "alternatives" hallucination continues. Possibly for them, the ultimate City planning for our future may be something like the following:
NIMBIES gain control, their candidate Stegink is Mayor. Inefficiencies return, nothing further is developed. Their election campaign strategy champions every cause they cannot win, and will not support or control. The City and its infrastructure fails. They party on and gain more converts, awaiting the 100 year flood to sweep away the disincorporated open space and "living in our neighborhoods" towns, which were once a City. The end.

City Manager allowed herself to get stuck holding the bag.View previous council meeting to see who suggested this proposal.

If Tinfow didn't see the set up, she wasn't paying attention. Not the first City Manager to be thrown under the bus by a Council member or two and she won't be the last. For the big bucks she does the dirty work. This was probably never more than a convenient pit stop after that mess in Walnut Creek.

At the 9 Nov council meeting, considerable discussion of agenda priorities and one councilmember effecting city council priorities. At 26 oct meeting Mayor Ervin requested City Manager to see what could be done about it,thus leading to prioritizing issue very next,9 Nov, council meeting, with hours wasted on proposal that no councilmember could support. If CEO City Manager wants it,it gets consideration!

6:00 PM, the 11/9/15, Item 9, Process for City Councilmembers to add topics to Council Meeting Agendas, is 2 pages only, which probably didn't take-up much City time, and was well worth the 20 minutes of City Council consideration.

What Item 9 did not deserve was a well organized, orchestrated lying NIMBY campaign claiming the process was "anti-democratic", and targeting the City Manager, prior to, during, and following the 11/9/15 City Council meeting.
Yet, neither Councilmembers Keener or Digre quieted or contested that action.
What does that tell you? Though decades of observation, it tells me these NIMBY obstructionist are motivated by an "ends justifies the means" modus operandi.
Hence, don't trust them, don't vote for them!
