Photograph/caption Disclaimer: The choice of offensive photograph is purely that of the poster, and does not reflect a direct opinion about any candidate forums listed. The caption is related to the resistance some candidates have in disclosing their actual positions on important civic needs which affect this city. These elective candidates are the governing board who make decisions for this city. City residents have the right to understand policies, governing action, and ideology individual candidates will support. Hiding positions, in past practice, have harmed this city.

Nice to see a business PAC and SAMCAR teaming up for this. Business needs to take the lead in getting this town out of the economic mess we have been led to believe is better for us. Being broke and a city working shorthanded isn't better.
The picture Kathy chose for this story is very telling about how SAMCAR and the Chamber operates in Pacifica.
An occupying force, unwanted by local residents, that regularly violates the norms of civilized behavior.
You forgot to mention the rogue realtors?
1048 That reminds me. I read someplace that the Chamber PAC and the Chamber were separating. Is that split romantic or strategic? Is the PAC going where the Chamber can't or won't follow?
839 Most people know goons when they see them and form their opinions, accordingly. And most people have heard that old saying, "follow the money" to find out what's really going on.
Anyone see the questionnaire from PH1A? Hahahahhahahaa
Any candidate that answers that one has to be out of their mind. You can't answer those unless you are set against the Highway fix. Talk about loaded questions. Or, how about we call it a push-pull poll where we want certain answers! How much $$ are they giving away?
Hi all. I was part of the Chamber BACPAC and the new BACPAC and don't real know what "follow the money" refers to but if you want critical questions asked for the future of this community,we are the group to ask.
Kathy, I kinda take offense to this photo because my brother-in-law is a Navy Seal and has been in some real conflicts during the
last 10 years. Just my opinion as I am one of many who participate on the blog.
I hope that the Chamber or PAC aren't contemplating endorsing Ruchames.
Sounds like 99% of the Chamber is trying to distance itself from its more toxic troublemakers.
Chris, I agree my photograph choice for this article is offensive. A disclaimer has been added. This issue for me is hiding elected candidate viewpoints, which is and has been a real disservice to our community. The insidious result, beyond 3 votes of 5 to make city legislation, has been economically, financially, and socially devastating to this city. Hence, I view the photograph as exaggerated, but appropriate and earned.
Needless to say, as always I appreciate and value your insight, efforts to improve this city, and your commentary.
140, what does your vague one-liner, insinuating but inconclusive, Toad comment mean? Is it a new 99% nimby fortune cookie? Should we eat it, throw it in a garbage can, or feed it to a frog, and move on.
Does "sounds like.." have relevance? Fits into the thought capacity of "What's up with them?" Who are these "toxic troublemakers"? Give us a clue. I can hardly wait.
No finer legacy for closet hippie politicians than a trail. Better even than a library.
Chris P, this is why I think of Wagner and his co-joined twin when I think of you. Nothing good can come from any of this Chamber or business sponsored activism, except more strife. Your message is far too narrow.
839 I see nothing wrong with the Chamber or it's PAC advocating for what's good for it's members like lower taxes and economic development which ends up benefiting all of us. I think most Pacificans understand that a healthy economy means we have money for what we need and want.
Bray, you have nothing to offer this town. You are toxic, grating, and argumentative for arguments sake only. Do Pacifica a favor and take your vapid comments to riptide.
Meeh agrees that the photo is offensive yet keeps it in place. Tells you all you need to know about who's really toxic and grating around here.
The forum will go like this:
Question: How do you propose to bring Pacifica out of the 30 year plus economic rut?
ONeal: I did a slide show.
Digre: Our Ecology is our Economy.
Ruchames: I want a library we can't afford.
Spano: I have experience on bringing revenue producing projects to a city.
Keener: I oppose Caltrans.
Dougherty: Umm Mr. Dougherty, will someone go get Dougherty, I saw him riding his skateboard out front.
Dyer: I was on the grand jury, listen to me.
Close, but more like this:
Question: How do you propose to bring Pacifica out of the 30 year plus economic rut?
O'Neill: I was on the school board! Hey, did I mention I was on the school board? Well, I was. On, the school board, I mean. In summation, I was on the school board. *cough* *school board* *cough*
Digre: [unintelligible]
Ruchames: I won't make any simplistic campaign promises
Spano: I want to cement the ocean and build new fire stations.
Keener: Caltrans bad.
Dougherty: I will leverage my experience as school hall monitor.
Dyer: Roger Medler.
934, unable to read the disclaimer? Here it is: "The caption is related to the resistance some candidates have in disclosing their actual positions on important civic needs which affect this city. These elective candidates are the governing board who make decisions for this city. City residents have the right to understand policies, governing action, and ideology individual candidates will support. Hiding positions, in past practice, have harmed this city."
Reality and truth are toxic to some people. And such toxicity seems to be an inherent defect in some NIMBIES. From your ongoing series of toxic comments, its possibly your hidden Anonymous quality. So, congratulations, you're talking about yourself again.
Well, I'm ready to call Poison Control.
I'd suggest a walk on the Devil's Slide old highway, which works wonders, but probably not for this group. Not just yet.
