Historic post office sold for mixed use downtown development, Burlingame

-- "The most important new downtown development in years, perhaps decades, is about to get underway in Burlingame, where a private trust has purchased a 1.3-acre property that currently houses the city's main post office. ... But it


will have to abide by the city's vision for the property, a plan that includes creating a signature public gathering spot."That's the heart of our downtown, so it's vitally important for the city that the project work well," said City Manager Lisa Goldman. "It's got to provide a public benefit and be something that the community can be proud of."  ... ....  "The U.S. Postal Service confirmed Monday that the 220 Park Road property sold on Sept. 5. The Wang-Lu Family Revocable Trust was the buyer, said City Manager Lisa Goldman. The buyer’s broker, agent Stanley Lo of Green Banker in Burlingame, is helping the buyers develop the property.“ Currently, the buyer is interviewing architects to develop a space with a mix of retail, offices and condominiums.“We want to work with city to get some benefit for the city,” Lo said.  ... Both of our post offices are the worst I have seen. Roberts Road is the poorly though out location. Horrible to get in and out of.

Manor is a nightmare also.

The post office was in Linda Mar shopping center by where Starbucks is.
