22 miles of street resurfacing, South San Francisco

San Mateo Daily Journal (San Mateo), 9/9/14.  "South City to begin street resurfacing work."

"South San Francisco will begin work to resurface about 22 miles of city streets beginning on Sept. 8.

Streets affected include areas west of El Camino Real as well as Grand Avenue, which will be repaired from Spruce Avenue to Airport Boulevard. Surface repairs are scheduled for completion by mid-October and will be administered in segments to avoid extended street closures. The 2014 Scrub & Micro-Surfacing Project will seal common street cracks and add new layers above treated surfaces."

Hey, how about crowd sourcing for street repairs in Pacifica? It's very trendy. Big.

Big Differnce:

South San Francisco has money.

Pacifica does not have any money.

Yeah, I hear they're doing entire streets, start to finish and both sides.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!

MVWAUF@147 You mean there's a down side to paved streets?

True 147. Wish for the pot holes to be filled and shazamm you get a trail up Pedro Point. What's that about? You know they're going to get that money all confused.

This idea is being taken very seriously by the management of City of Pacifica. One of the Council members already suggested. Which one is my secret.

I live off Skyline Blvd, we moved here about a year ago. I am wondering if and how my area detach from Pacifica and join South San Francisco?

742 Only here a year and you want out?

Sounds like @742 not only wants to opt out of Pacifica but wants his entire neighborhood to join him. Probably lives in one of those new developments between Manor and Sharp Park Rd. Eastside is South San Franciosco, while west of Skyline seems to be "the wrong side of the tracks."

Good luck on that one @742.

What idea is being taken seriously by Pacifica? You mean the idea of resurfacing streets? Doh. People have been complaining for years. Do you mean the idea of how the hell you pay for resurfacing all the streets in Pacifica? I'd love to see the answer to that one.

Council launches the Pray to Pave campaign any day now. Probably Sunday.

I know you consider yourself Fix Pacifica's Deep Throat, but council has publicly floated neighborhood sponsorship of street repairs, so it's no secret, broseph.

Sounds like council went to an urban planning seminar on pocket neighborhoods and thought it meant pay out of pocket for basic services we already paid for. Regression back to the 1950s and all the separate neighborhoods before incorporation. Current model unsustainable?
