Pacifica Chamber of Commerce is good for business and the community

Pacifica Tribune, Courtney Conlon, Guest Columnist Columnist, 2/19/13. "Your Chamber Matters

Hey, careful who you hangout with
According to a national survey, it is an effective business strategy for businesses to be active in their local Chamber of Commerce. The Schapiro Group, an Atlanta-based strategic consulting firm, also found that two-thirds of consumers surveyed believe Chamber member companies use good business practices, are reputable, care about their customers and are involved in their community.

When you invest in your business by joining the Pacifica Chamber of Commerce, we actively promote and support your business, which helps create a strong local economy. Being a membership-driven organization, we strongly believe that every Pacifica business will not find a greater return on their investment than belonging to the Pacifica Chamber of Commerce.

Your support allows us to continue to deliver on our five strategic core objectives:  •Creating a strong local economy, •Promoting business and the community, •Providing networking opportunities, •Representing the interests of business with government, •Endorsing political action.   Read article.

So the broke ass chamber is going to ask the broke ass city council for money.

This should be fun.

Jeez, We know the city is clueless, but I thought at least the chamber could do simple math. You know, with all their business expertise.

Hey, 9:25, go back to rip-one and post there. Lionel doesn't have any insides to what is going on in the Chamber anymore than I do but I do know he don't know sh--. We had a sleepy do-nothing Chamber and now we have a Chamber that all those that have prevented growth for 35 years are concerned about. How is that a bad thing! Charging a prevailing rate for dues and working on many levels that have never been pursued. I think what really worries Lionel and the rest is the active role the Chamber has taken in speaking out on issues of importance to its membership. Bohner and Loeb are original no-growth proponents. Where has that got Pacifica? Yep, broke. You want to listen to them! Why don't Loeb and Bohner claim that Hwy 1 improvements will negatively impact business all the way to Santa Cruz! Makes just as much sense to say the Adode and Park Pacifica businesses will be impacted. The BIG LIE is all tht group has ever dished out. The truth is out and we know it. You and the rest of your FOP are frauds. Period.

Remember, they are self-proclaimed, "pro-business" hippies.

Ha.

Hey the chamber can go go bankrupt same time as the city. Solidarity, baby!

The chamber is a private for profit company. The city has as much business funding them as they would supporting a farmers market that competes with our current grocers. Oh....

The only beach town on the west coast that doesn't take advantage of being a beach town.

@1252 Whaddaya mean? We're gonna have a plover preserve on the beach so we can breed plovers. Yep, big ass Do Not Disturb sign on our best beach and only asset. Oh, by "take advantage" did you mean something for humans, maybe even something that makes money? Not a chance! No no no. Seriously, not a chance.

I know what kinda plover preserve I wanna see in Pacifica. The kind you buy in jars.

In order to be a for profit company you actually have to make a profit. Not lose money like the chamber of horrors.

Maybe we can Bring Don Back?

wait we have a beach? do the hippies know about it? shhh don't tell them. they will want to protect some endangered bird or something.....

Of course the NOBIES hate the chamber, it has commerce attached to it.

It's a threatened bird, all 12 with their own beach (used to be ours)are merely threatened.

When we light the briquettes, then it's an endangered bird.
