Courtney Conlon (in the middle) accepted the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) position of Pacifica Chamber of Commerce, replacing Don Eagleston.. The announcement was made April 28th at the Chamber luncheon, Courtney was actually a board member. There should be a Tribune article about Courtney Conlon's appointment to the Pacifica Chamber of Commerce Wednesday, and once she moves-in, put-up the family pictures, and works the job we'll  interview her.

Meantime, what happened to Don Eagleston? Effective March 1st, Don Eagleston accepted the CEO position of the Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce. He had been Pacifica Chamber CEO 12 years, and Saratoga Chamber CEO 8 years before that, press release www.svcoc.org/CEO%20release.doc.

And, here's what a downtown village looks like in Sunnyvale http://www.svcoc.org/.

I wish Courtney the best of luck, she's going to need it in the toughest business climate I have ever seen in 30 years in small business.

As for Sunnyvale's new hire--talk about failing upward.

No one said it's going to be easy. God knows it will take patience, blood, sweat, tears and a huge capital investment, but maybe, just maybe, Don can turn downtown Sunnyvale into another Palmetto. Dare to dream...
