When asked about a critical issue, so many politicians these days put their finger up to see which way the wind of public opinion is blowing before giving a carefully hedged answer. A case in point is the recent environmental issues forum at which all city council candidates were asked whether they support the widening of Highway 1. Among the candidates for the two-year seat, Victor Spano and Mike O'Neill both said they don't support the widening, yet both have stated elsewhere that they do. Which is it? (See the candidates' full answers on Pacifica's Environmental Family Facebook page).
For the two-year seat, Richard Campbell stands out as the only candidate who has been willing to state a clear position. He is against the widening and he supports alternatives to reduce traffic. Campbell clearly explains his position and backs it up with thoughtful research. And no matter the audience, he tells them all the same thing. That is the sort of leadership we desperately need in Pacifica. One need not agree with all Campbell's positions, but his honesty, straightforwardness and true leadership win my vote.

Another hippie and nobee telling us what to do.
Don't these people realise they bankrupted the city?
I'm amazed people comment on these postings within three minutes.
Carlos Davison said the city's property taxes would keep it afloat. HAHAHAHA!
Davidson . . . doesn't he want the golf course to disappear? And Campbell says he supports the golf course. Hmmmmmmm, someone is not being honest with the voters.

This would never happen In Pacifica? Would it?
If you want to see Pacifica file bankruptcy then vote for Rich Campbell.
Our city is broke because Campbell and his supporters like the Seirra Club and Save the Frogs have fought any kind of progress ovr the past 20+ years.
They are anti-business and anti development.
Vote for change. Vote for Mike O'neill!
Did Jimmy Vreeland endorse Campbell?
I would guess that Mr. Vreeland has not made such an endorsement and doubt that one was sought.
Haven't you enough to go by? And no, you can not again toss a coin.
@624 uh he endorsed him when he got him a spot on the Planning Commission. Good enough for ya?
No rumor has it Vreeland, is going to have a lot of free time on his hands soon.
BTW has there been a Jimmy V. siting?
